Also, would you eat meat from an animal that died of "natural" or accidental causes and didn't suffer?

Yes I would. I'm a meat-eater but I wish the animals were treated more humanely. I absolutely refuse to eat veal, duck, or lamb because I don't think these animals are treated right. Animals are entitled to the same rights as human beings, therefore they should be treated as humanely as possible.

I would definitely feel better. However it's not about my feelings, it's about the animals. For instance I refuse to ever go back to KFC. The way they treat their chickens is just unacceptable. It's not that difficult to quickly kill an animal. I don't know why the animals have to suffer - but they still do at places like KFC.

Meat will always be a major industry and this issue needs to be addressed. As long as the meat passed the health/safety standards, I would eat meat from an animal that died of natural/accidental causes.

Better foods. Really, do tell. Do you have scientific facts to back up this assertion from independant laboratories, as opposed to those research projects funded via Vegetarian/Vegan organisations? Actually, you do kill plants, there are certain plants which are consumed whole, in their entirety, so you are killing them. Actually, the exterior of the fruit, where it is left intact, creates a good quality localised soil food content for the seed. Many larger fruits, when consumed by animals such as birds, often don't have the seeds distributed via the animal. There are many different methods of seed propagation, so to make such a generalised statement is false. Rice, wheat, etc, are in fact the seeds of the plant. When we grind these up to make bread we are cutting short the lifespan of the plant, for without those grains, the plant will not produce another generation, which is why in traditional societies, seeds were retained to replant the crops.

You can't eat animals that die from natural causes, accidental ones are too weird. Like a smushed animal on the side of the road, thats full of dirt and rocks and gunk from the road thats been sitting out for awhile? Not very smart. But with the humane manner, eating foods with so many chemicals in them, more than we already have now, isn't completely healthy.

not much. and no beacuse it still sounds totally nasty.

but currently, they are trying to create a new kind of meat. they "painlessly" extract cells from an animals body, and grow them in a laboratory. it will end up to be a huge sheet of meat that started out as only a few cells. that way the animal never gets killed. but im not so sure about it. first of all, i think its completely disgusting to eat meat grown in a lab. second, i think the animals used for cell extraction would stil be kept locked up and treated poorly.

just thought i would share. :)

I think animals should be put to sleep first. Then do whatever you need to do. And while they are being raised, only the freshest foods and lots of room to be pigs or cows or whatever the hell they are. Afterall, WE are the ones that eat it. Why raise it in sloppy conditions, who know's when you'll buy bad meat b/c someone elses neglect. I'm all for animal rights, I am a meat eater but I think the animals shouldn't feel pain. Put them to sleep, then chop them up. Or you could just put them in a room and gas them... like sleeping gas or whatever. Then when they are unconscious... OFF WITH THEIR HEADS!
I feel really bad for the animals but theyre so tasty! God put them here to eat anyway. I think we could do it in a much nicer way though...

I have no moral problem with eating meat, so if it was killed in a humane way, or died of natural causes I don't object to eating it. But I will say that since I've become a vegetarian it's been more and more gross to me, so I don't know if I could actually do it.

I would. Animals in factory farms are mistreated and suffering for most of thier life. The conditions and method of execution are very inhumane. But i'm not moral opposed to eating meat. Just the treatment of the animals.

Absolutely not. There is no such thing as a humane
murder. Everything deserves to live its full lifespan.

Eating a dead animal that died from natural causes
would make me a scavenger. I'm a human not a
buzzard or a vulture. It's their role to clean the earth
of carrion, not mine.
