Hi, my girl friend has recently been diagnosed with Candida. She is being treated with DIFLUCAN (FLUCONAZOLE) and SECNIDAL (SECNIDAZOLE) both oral tablets. Her doctor has advised me to use the same medicine (as a single dose) as a precautionary measure. I am confused whether to use it or not. please help.

Yeast infections can be passed back and forth during sex. If your girlfriend has a yeast infection then she can pass it to you and then you can pass it back to her. If you both get treated and cured, then you don't have to worry about passing it back and forth. Just take the medication; it's not going to hurt you. Good luck!

Do what you've been advised. If she has vaginal thrush, you almost certainly have it somewhere too. In fact, you probably gave it to her. A single dose of Fluconazole will get rid of it. If you ignore this advice, then you will simply keep reinfecting each other.

Don't be a wise guy - take the tablets. It is highly infectious and you should wash all your underwear with an anti-fungal formula like Canesten.
