I recently went vegetarian and now eat no meat or milk products. Through my new way of shopping I've discovered Tofu " burgers ", Soy " milk " drink, Soy " ice cream ", etc.

I am fine with and have been enjoying this new vegetarian way of eating. The one food I do miss though is cottage cheese. I used to eat it as a snack with a variety of stirred in items at different times such as raisens, cinnamon, salsa or peaches etc.

I've discovered different Soy and Tofu products that are produced to be like other food I used to eat . . . Is there a Soy or Tofu product out there that mimics cottage cheese ?

Emma . . . Yea ! ! Thanks. Yet, I'd rather buy it in a store than make it at home. That's just how I am these days...So, I'll look for it out and about.

" Doc Hudson " . . . I don't eat or drink dairy products...i.e. milk, cottage cheese etc. because I learned how sad cows are treated to keep their milk production up for us to consume in the mass market.

I'm not vegertarian for health reasons. This lifestyle is my choice as I came to discovery of how animals are inhumanly treated for the purpose of providing the mass population with products derived from those animals.

Animals live, breath and feel just as us. To discover how they are treated in captivity and how thoughtlessly those animals are subjected to pain and " torture " and manner of how brought to death for purpose of human consumption . . . With my awarenes of that...I won't eat meat or have dairy products.

" Brandon " . . . I already stated here the reason that I choose not to eat dairy cottage cheese.

My gosh...between you and " Travon " . . . silly.

I was simply asking if there is a vegetarian " cottage cheese " out there in STORES.

I don't want to make it in my kitchen...No breast milk to be found here. . .I don't care to eat meat or dairy products. . . I simply choose to buy it and posted my question as it was.

O.k....time to call this one done. Thanks just the same.

A " best answer " out if this ? Oh my gosh...It's times like this when my sense of humor really serves me well.
.
I'm going to go read some other questions now...Bye.

i don't know if there's any on the market, but here's a recipe for "soy cottage cheese"

Soy Yogurt Cottage Cheese

Ingredients:
Soy yogurt cheese - 1 bowl
Sea salt - to taste

Directions:
Sprinkle sea salt over a bowl of moist Soy Yogurt Cheese curds.

Note: You can use soy cottage cheese in place of dairy cottage cheese in your recipes.

Cheese is a dairy product. No way around that.

I don't agree with vegetarianism, but I can understand someone giving up meat. But why give up dairy products? They are a good source of lots of vitamins and minerals needed for a healthy body.
