Why weren't Asian tigers introduced to Africa where they could have survived and multiplied?

The Asian tigers are on the verge of extinction but they could have been introduced to various areas of Africa where they could have thrived well and multiplied .Why it has not been done ?

These tigers would be considered invader species, and would prey on animals that do not currently have that many predators. The population numbers would be disrupted, and other animals that prey on them would find themselves without food, completely disrupting a very delicate food chain. So while perhaps it would save the tigers, it would most likely cause the endangerment and possible extinction of one or more species native to the area.

As everyone else said introducing the tiger into Africa would completely change the ecosystem there. It would also endanger the 900Million people that live on that continent as tigers need to eat something. It also might not be to the tigers advantage to live with the people in Africa. These people are starving and will eat anything if they can kill it. The tiger would be in more trouble then others because the families could sell the tigers skin for money to feed the town and send a child to school if they're lucky.

Bad idea to just through a new species into a new environment without years and years of research of how the animal react to all plants and animals, does it have any diseases etc... Says the asian tiger is a plant and you bring it to africa. This palnt multiplies, shoving all native plants out. Taking over everthing. Soon there are no native plants left. If these exotic (asian) plants are the tigers and the native plants are everything under the food chain, whats left? people.

There are NO wild tigers in Africa. They would probably survive but tend to hunt more in jungles than on the savannah like lions do. They are more solitary(like leopards) than lions. It's not a good thing to introduce alien animals into a country...they upset the balance of the indiginous wildlife..look what damage bringing in rabbits, mink and grey squirrels has done in Britain.

I'm not sure the introduction of tigers to Africa would work.

The lions of Africa are social animals. They live on the open plains and often have large herds of prey species to hunt. Tigers are solitary animals. They do not have herds of prey animals to hunt; they hunt individual animals. Tigers inhabit jungles/forests and each one needs a very large territory in order to find their food. Given their territorial needs, Africa could support only a limited number of tigers. [The Siberian tiger is a cold weather animals (which is one reason it is so large). It lives primarily in forested areas of Russia. It would have difficulty adjusting to the heat in Africa (or southeast Asia for that matter).]

If Nature had intended for tigers to live in Africa, they would already be there (unless the great white "hunters" killed them all off).

Their are some Asiatic lions in Asia -- in the Gar Forest. They can find suitable habitat there. There would be little habitat for tigers in Africa.

First off Africa is in deep s**t as far as animals and their survival, just look at the great elephant. Killed off for ivory and a small amount of tail hair.I don't have time to put you totally straight on animal rights, give green peace a look and find out how you can make a difference. because the asian tiger may destory the native african animals, and cause those native animals to extinct

and they may also have trouble hunting for food, and live under the weather which can be different from where they used to live

for example, australian used to be free of rabbits, but people thought that it would be cute to bring some rabbits to australia, now the australian government has to build a cross nation fence, so those rabbits won't cross over to destory more natural habitat

so that is the reason

well to introduce an animal in a different ahbitat you could really screw up the ecosystem u put it ibn. It could kill prey of another so those animals wouldnt have food and they die.. do u see hwhere i am going with this...
