Electricity to heat: close to 100%
Heat to Mechanical energy (ex: thermodynamic process from power plant, reciprocical engine, etc...) from 30 to 60%
From Mechanicak to electrical energy: 90-99% (electrical motor)

around 5-10%. The rest of the energy is used up as heat or light.

Have you ever seen the movie "The Wiz"? It starred Diana Ross, Michael Jackson and Nipsey Russell (among others).

Michael played the Scarecrow. He sang the Song of Thermodynamics. "You Can't Win, You Can't Break Even and You Can't Get Out of the Game."

Basically, that means you can't create more energy than you started with (win); your system is always inefficient (break even); there's nothing you can do about it (get out of the game).
