The main thing to watch out for is dairy, peanut butter or any nut butter. Those are the high fat items - dairy, nuts, eggs and oils.

The USDA website is a good reference for calories in food. In fact, I believe all other calorie calculators use the info on this website as their database: http://www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/foodcomp/search/

Fortunately for vegetarians, there are fewer foods that they need to watch out for as closely in terms of fats. The main concern many vegetarians have is getting enough protein, since meats are the primary source for those in an omnivourous diet. However, there are some fruits (like avacados) which have a significant amount of fat. I've included a link to a web site that has detailed information on a variety of fruits, vegetables, and nuts.

Don't worry about eating foods which are naturally high in fat (ie nuts avocados etc)! Cut down (or cut out) dairy (coz it's rubbish), completely cut out all fizzy drinks (full fat AND diet) and don't eat anything with E numbers or other weird man made stuff. Avoid simple carbs like white pasta, rice and bread because they've had all nutritional value removed and eat the wholegrain variety instead. Just eat as much fruit, veg and wholegrain as you like and you should stay trim, healthy and heart attack free.

The only things vegetarians have to watch for cholesterol is eggs.

Eggs are high in cholesterol. Vegetarians should be careful how much eggs they eat. Besides eggs, cholesterol is only found in meat! It is not found in any plant product.

Also be aware that vegggie meats sometimes have egg in them, and therefore can have cholesterol.

For weight, vegetarians just have to be careful how much pasta, white bread, veggie meat, deserts, eggs and cheese, they eat.

The diet should be based on whole grains, vegetables, fruit, legumes.

Cholesterol is only found in meat and dairy products, so it can't be that hard to steer clear and as for fat some exercise and healthy food wouldn't go a miss.
