Im 15 years old and want to go into the army as a health care specialist. I am already AED, CRP, EMT, EMTC certified and liscensed. But I was wondering if I had to go to a military school like west point or something to get into the marines. I hope I dont because I could never get into a good military school. Do grades make a huge difference on getting into the army? Could I go to just any 4 year college and still get in?

you don't have to go to military school to enlist, you just have to be 18. If you have a 4 year degree from any college you can enter as an officer and you can go through ROTC while your earning your degree. If you don't go through ROTC but still graduate with a 4 year degree you go through Officer Training School.

the Marines use NAVY Corpspmen, and no, you do not go to tthe Naval Academy, HM is an enlisted position.

any enlisted job in any branch only requires a high school diploma. College credits will earn you a higher paygrade going in, however.

In order to enlist, they don't care what your HS grades are, only what your ASVAB line scores are. My stepson is barely going to squeak by high school, but he did extremely well on his ASVAB and has enlisted into the Navy DEP.

BTW.. don't even THINK about dropping out. FINISH high school. GED holder slots are few and far between, they require scoring higher on the ASVAB(50 vice 35) and you don't qualifiy for as many jobs nor do you get any bonuses.

i promised to be nice today, so I wont make mention that you can't be certified at 15. the labor department requires you to be at least 18 when completting the EMT cerrtification course and testing for the license. and be at least 16 the time of application for the AED
