So I love my family and they are all REALLY committed Christians, my immediate family and all the others too. And there is this girl who I have had a crush on for many years, we will leave it at that, and she asked ME out once but I said no because she wasn't Christian and that was a conflict of morals for me. But now I have decided I don't believe anymore, and I am affrayed of how my family will react because I can't bear to have them see me as a "lost soul." But I would have to tell them if I were to pursue this girl, who I am so crazy about and have been friends with for 3ish years now. So I'm 20 still at home and in community college, and I could really use some input or some empathy.

K, take this from someone who was in your shoes. once you beleived and gave yourself once, You never have to do it again. You wouldn't be a lost soul, you'd be what your family would like to say "A sheep lost from the flock". SO relex on one thing, your not a "lost soul". Moving on, about that girl. you never know what kind of relationship it could end up into. My friend was a devoted christian and dated a non-beleiver and there both married now and she became a christian also. If your comfortable with yourself and this girl, go ahead. Don't worry about your family. your 20, your a man and part of being a man is making your own decisions. If they get upset or worried just say "If you care for me so much just help me by praying". Trust me, good luck man :)

Hey mate.

You are 20 years old and are intitled to your own opinion and beliefs. You are their son and they love you a lot. They may be mad at first but if you explain your situation and how you feel about it and this girl they will understand.

If you are no longer a christian and don't have those beliefs anymore than you know that just because you are no longer religeous (or involved in that religion) you know that you are not a 'lost soul'. If you are athiest than the beliefs of a religion can't effect you at all. That's the point of being an athiest.

Christians are forgiving people (you of all people should know that) and if they love you, they will understand, but this may take time seeing as they are so commited.

Follow your heart, not anyone elses.

Who is the most impostant person in the world?...You are, always rememeber that.

Good Luck.

You could tell them you want to help her see a different side to being a christian and say your hanging out and having fun with her to make her realize Christians are not all stuffy and hypocrites.
