will it help my bum, tum and thighs?

I go on the bike every day for atleast 30 minutes & will this help my metabolism?

Yes it will help but you will need to do that every day at least

It really depends on the intensity you do the training at.

So monitor your speeds and tension on the belt.

Most importantly monitor your heart rate. You should be working in range of 60-70% of your maximum heart rate to burn fat and within 70-80% to tone muscle and for cardio-vascular strengthening.

IF your max heart rate is 200beats per minute this means you should work out at about 120-140 beats per minute, and sustain this heart rate for as long as you can.

If you want to gain fitness you should alternate between high intensity and low intensity called interval training. Work in range of 70-80% for 2 minutes then drop it to 50-60% for the next 2 minutes. Follow up again by increasing back to 70-80% and drop back and repeat until you feel your done.

30 minutes at least 3 times a week will tone and tighten those areas and help maintain your current weight.

It may not do much for those parts but will definitely help you with your cardiovascular health.
