Yes basic training is more than just learning how to fight it is also about team work, depending on your comrads, and getting physical fit in order to do the job that you are going to be doing.

Yes they do. How do you know you wouldn't be sent to a combat zone. Everyone's primary job in the military is to pick up a weapon and shoot. The military is nothing but a combat role of some sorts. Each and every componant supports the other for the ultimate goal, war.

Yes, everyone who joins the Active Duty Army, National Guard, or Reserves, has to go through Basic Training.

Yes and rightly so. This teaches you all the basic training to become a soldier (Hence the word basic training). Could you imagine not knowing how to march, fire a weapon, learn an obstacle course, military history, etc. All these things you learn in basuc training.

Yes, basic training is not just to prepare you for war combat,it prepares you for things that may happen at your base or where ever you are stationed.

The only folks that I am aware of that do not have to go to basic training are those individuals who are selected to be members of the "Presidents Own" United States Marine Band.
Every other Soldier/Sailer/Airman/Marine (at least enlisted) goes to basic...at least to the best of my knowledge.

Yep. Finance MOS had to got to Basic at Ft. Knox. All soldiers are infantry first.

its the armed forces you need to be trained this is not a social club you have to learn basic things how to wear uniforms how to drill how to salute and a bunch of other fun things
