The case was not dismissed. You plead guilty. (probably) and rather than tie up court time they probably reduced the charge to a misdemeanor. But ;you should check with the lawyer because things like this have a habit of popping up when you are applying for a job etc. it can cost you a job and be really embarassing. you really need to know!

Sounds like you got six months of "unsupervised probation".

Generally, this means you keep your nose clean for six months and nothing happens. You get busted for something and they can put you in jail for what ever time is remaining on the six month sentence plus what ever time is due on the new charge.

You say a "lawyer" told you this information. Was that your lawyer or the Prosecuting Attorney? If it was your lawyer, you might want to call him and ask for a clearer explanation of what happened in court. If it was the Prosecutor, call the court you were in and try to find out from the Clerk of Court what the disposition of your case was. If that person does not know, he or she should be able to point you in the right direction.

You got arrested for using a school metro card during vacation?
Haven't the cops got anything better to do - like catching real criminals? If it happened in UK, you'd simply get turned off the bus or train and that would be the end of it

I am confused.... If you are on probation, is it court supervised or what... You really need to check with the court system cause if you are to report to a PO and you don't you will be in worse trouble.

Doesn't make sense. But you should be able to call the court and ask them whether you're on probation or not.
