My cat has been acting weird for the past week. She hasn't been coughing, but she'll occasionally hack really bad. She's not as playful anymore and her eyes always seem big. She purrs as if she's nasal. When she tries to meow, nothing comes out. I don't really see her eat unless it's wet food. I took her to the vet, and they tested her but said they couldn't find anything. I know my cat, and I know there is something wrong with her. And they said it would pass.

Take her to another vet. Something's not right and she's trying to tell you that.

We have a rather feisty vet who does radio talkback in this city, his name is Dr Hugh Wurth, and I am sure his opinion would be that you have absolutely done the right thing by going to the vet and if you are not satisfied and are are still worried about the welfare of your cat, you should seek a second opinion from another vet if possible. Dr Hugh frequently advises callers to do things like this because he cares about the welfare of any animal primarily and he knows that an animal's human carer just knows instinctively when something is just not right with the pet they care for, no matter what any professional may say otherwise.

Get a second opinion. She could have something lodged in her throat. mb
