Is pineapple actually bad for you, if you dont burn off the calories it gave you? I know its a fruit, but on 'The Biggest Loser', they said that the sugar content of pineapple is so high, that its best to only have as a treat in moderation, or not at all if you are trying to lose weight. Is this true?

I love my pineapple!

Pineapple is one of the things that has lots of vitamins in it. Glucose found in starch is excellent for keeping your blood sugar (dextrose) levels up which is necessary for your brain function is more likely to add weight. Sufficient dextrose in your blood will allow fat to be metabolised. The fat may come from your diet or your body. You may notice that many diets concentrate on reducing fat in your diet which makes sense and yet some low carbohydrate diets are high in fat. Increasing the carbohydrate level particularly starch that is slowly broken down whilst having dietary fat available may make you fatter as starch maintains dextrose to metabolise the fat. The fact is you shouldn't eat too much fat but maybe it's the excess starch in your diet that helps put fat on your body and not some sugar from fruit which has so many other good things in it.
Pineapple for me.
