I quit my job recently, and was offered a contract position for 2 months. One week after starting, another company offered me a permanent position with twice the salary of the contract one, plus benefits, and a nearer distance. Thing is, they won't wait until my contract finishes, and they want me to start in 2 weeks. Or they'll pass the position to someone else.

My contract letter doesn't mention anything at all about notice of termination period or anything. What should I do? I feel bad about wanting to let go after only one week, but it's an opportunity not to be missed.

I would go for the permanent position with the better salary and the benefits which is nearer to you. This 2 weeks contract doesn't sound any promising. You got the better offer, that's what it is all about - better offers.

Do not miss good opportunity. Since your comtract did not mention anything, just tender your resignation and join the new company. Once you reject this new offer, after your contract expire, you may be out of job. So why take risk when you have a great job opening for you. Nothing to feel bad and I am sure your current employer will understand your situation.
