In the first painting, there is a main dressed in a suit facing the bar, and I believe he is smoking a cigar. He is dressed in black, and the bar looks quite classy. In the second painting, which goes with the first, there is a woman standing at the same bar dressed elegantly. I believe she is holding a martini in her hand. There are two different ways to arrange the paintings. Since the man is looking right, and the woman looking left, you can align the paintings so they are facing each other. Or, you can align the paintings so that they are facing away from each other, giving the paintings different meanings. Does anyone know the title of these works of art, or perhaps the artist who created them?

That is actually quite similar to the paintings I saw, but it isn't it. I actually saw a set of matching paintings, in which the woman was in one painting and the man was in the other painting. But the subjects and even the style were somewhat similar to this one you've selected.

Wow, I had no idea so many similar paintings existed. This second one is much closer to the set of paintings that I saw, but still not the exact ones I was thinking of. The ones that I saw had a similar color scheme, but the figures were more realistic looking. Also, in each painting, the man or woman was facing the bar, so you only saw his or her back and the profile of their face, since they had their heads turned. Thanks so much for everyone's contributions so far... even if I never find the exact paintings I am looking for, I have liked all of these so far.

Hi,
I'm not sure if these are the paintings you are looking for, but I recently found some by the artist Brent Lynch at art.com that match your description.

Hope this helps!

I hope this didn't happen to you. If so, I'm sorry. No women should have to hear her husband say he wants her to do what another woman does. That's foolish, if what you do isn't enough, than maybe you find someone who wants you to be you, not look like some whore he seen at a bar. It's a matter of respect, your spouse should have enough respect for you as a human being not to do such a thing. Once again, I hope you didn't have to go through this.

You can arrange them so the figures in the background face away, or towards each other.

You might want to check out the artist Fabian Perez. He has several of men and women in a bar.
