EYE EXERCISES!! I read, somewhere, that astigmatism is caused by weak muscles around the eye. I have it, and I tried them, and they seemed to help.
1. Cross your eyes. Look at the tip of your nose, until you feel it. Then, try to hold it. Very difficult, but one day you can do it. It is getting easier for me.
2. Imagine a big clock in front of you, up close. Look straight ahead. Stretch your eyes to 12:00 or as high as you can get them. Hold for a second or as long as you can. Then go back to the center. While your eyes are traveling up and down, try to control the movement and look at everything. (At first, my eyes seemed to go "black", but now they don't and it doesn't hurt as bad.) Do this for every number on a clock.
3. Hold a pencil in front of you with the tip up. Stare at the tip. Move it back and forth in front of your nose. and follow the ONE tip. When you do this you will know what I mean.
(eye doctor recommended)
There are other eye exercises out there. Try searching the Internet for eye exercises. There are some videos out too. But I don't know any of the info.

An Astigmatism is when your actual eyeball isn't shaped the right way. A normal eyeball should be round. A person with an Astigmatism has an eye that is more oblong, like a football. Hope I helped. :)

Astigmatism is a NORMAL eye condition. It is just irregular curvature of the eye. Instead of the eye shaped like a round ball, it is football shaped. This is something that does not need to be CURED. You most definitely want it to be addressed with the use of glasses or contact lenses. Corrective lenses should make you stop squinting to see properly and may avoid many headaches.

astigmatism can't be fixed at the moment. Your eyeball isn't the normal shape and when you're your your eye muscles stretch for you to focus and over a period time these muscles weaken and that's when you get the headaches from eye strain and glasses are prescribed. I was 29 yrs when my astigmatism was first diagnosed and I have worn glasses ever since. Better than having headaches.

The only corrective options are glasses, contact lenses, and in some cases, refractive surgery. See your eye doctor for the solution that is best for you.

It is a defect of the eye (i.e.: the *shape* of the eye), and there is no amount of New Age stuff that will do anything for it, unless you can gain concious control over the muscles of the eye...which is not likely.
Glasses and surgery are your only two "cures" for it.
