If you had to leave home and you only had a limited space to pack things, would you be able to survive without your Bible?

Well, if I'd had enough cash to buy a new one, yes or get an alternative method to get access to a bible (read in a bookstore?) then yes too.

But if you meant living without my bible, then probably not. After all I am leaving home and obviously, more than ever, I would need my bible. That is spiritual food and there are many times in my darkest days, I have sought comfort in God's word.

So I'd like pack lesser clothes and stuff my bible in or carry it by hand.

Actually, yes. As a matter of fact, most of us hamans can easily cope with life without a manual. Moreso,we can easily exist without even knowing that God exists.

But God wants interaction. He seeks worshippers, followers, people to have an intimate relationship with. The Bible tells us a lot about God so we don't have to make guesses or be content with what we know about Him.The Bible tells us about God's love so we don't have to feel alone and lonely and insignificant. The Bile tells us about God's commands, or better put, His guidelines. So we don't stray away from what is good for us. The Bible tells us about God's grace and how He has redeemed us from our predicament: our bondage in sin and the eventuality of our death. The Bible tells us how Jesus died on the cross to pay the penalty of our sin and He rose again to be victorious over death. The Bible tells us that He is the way,the truth and the life. The Bible tells us how to believe in God's truth.

So come to think of it, it's quite difficult to cope without the Bible.

No. The bible is a way of life for the true believer. However, if forced to be without it, I'm glad I've got a ton of it memorized. It helps to meditate on Scripture.

Yep. I went to a private christian school growing up and we had Bible class everyday. It's all up in my head. I have tons of scriptures memorized so it wouldn't be hard to go without it for a few days.

Yes, because I remember what I have read and all I have to do is pray and God will take care of me. Also, I have several Bibles, one which I take with me all the time. It is a small one that fits in my purse.

Why not? The words of God in the bible was already planted inside our mind and heart. The knowledge we have , I think , is enough to cope with in every situation that may arise.

A billion Buddhists do and so do a billion atheists.
I would welcome it or at the least to see it put in a
proper light . At least our secular gov't had the insight to form the judicial branch rather than waiting for gods judgment day.
just imagine if all those murderers and other criminals were set free to await for god's justice ; what a mess . lets be practical and improve on what works instead of what doesn't .

I have hid His word in my heart. So yes I would be able to survive. I would seek another one out at first opportunity though.
