Do they call me up first and ask when I'm available or do they just knock my door? (I'm getting quite serious with this thing since I didn't let my parents know that I signed up for delivery thing. )

Heres a good look at their true nature from History.
This one happened 150 years ago but I think its still relevant because Mitt Romneys church pardoned a terrorist mass murderer of Americans in 1960 and now Romney is running for President.

MOUNTAIN MEADOWS MASSACRE !!

It was September 11, 1857. A wagon train of 160 settlers on their way to California was massacred by a bunch of Mormons dressed in Indian clothes. 17 children under the age of 8 were spared and lived to tell their story.
1st. They dressed as Indians but after five days they changed tactics.
2nd. Then they went a bit away ,dressed back into normal clothes and acted like the Rescue Party who had negotiated a deal with the"Indians".
3rd, Then confiscated all the guns as part of the deal for "saving" the travellers and Mormon dissidents( who were the reason for the attack in the first place).
4th. Took everybody off a mile or so and shot them all. 2 men got away but were eventually tracked down and killed a day or so later.
5th. Took the 17 children they had not killed back with them to Salt Lake City.
6th. Got away with it. After a publicized trial, with the childrens own testimony admitted into the court, only 1 man was convicted and shot, John D. Lee. ( pardoned by Church 1960)

It ended up being called the Mountain Meadows Massacre. The first time in U.S. history that U.S. citizens were massacred on U.S. soil by religious wackos. This event is even more significant because the total U.S. population at the time was much smaller.(I dont know the exact numbers, maybe only 30 million or so) In todays numbers it would be around 1400 dead

Can I address what peepers said abouto families? Because the church takes NO joy in families that split up. If a family splits because one or two have joined the LDS church, it's not theh LDS who wanted the split. It's usually the non-LDS family members who say "leave the mormons or leave the family".

Seriously, wait till your 18. In the meantime, check out lds.org (you can find an online version of the Book of Mormon) as well as exmormon.org to find out what the missionaries won't teach you about their church (but you need to know).

You can have mine. We have three. Are you certain you know what you're getting into? While mormons emphasize family values, they have no problem with splitting them up.
Personally, I'd let your folks know what you're up to.

Actually, you could probably flag down a pair of missionaries when you see them on the street. They'll set up everything. No thinking needed, a theme that will be oft-repeated during you journey within 'zion'.

you can read the book of mormon online for free here:
http://scriptures.lds.org/en/bm/contents

You can download the book of mormon in MP3 format here:
http://www.ldsaudio.com/free-book-of-mormon/

You could have it shipped to you from a third party for $4.
http://www3.addall.com/New/compare.cgi?dispCurr=USD&id=141328&isbn=0967686563&location=10000&thetime=20070530111958&author=&title=&state=CA

You could order it from the church (no missionaries involved) for $2.50. (I think it's free shipping too, but not certain)

You could walk into a "church distribution center" and buy it for $1.50 or $2.50 (no more than that). Here's a link to help you find one.
http://www.ldscatalog.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/LDSDomestic?storeId=10151&catalogId=10151&langId=-1

You could find a nearby Mormon chapel and ask someone there for one:
http://www.lds.org/basicbeliefs/meetinghouse/1,6017,352-1,FF.html

Or, if you have any mormon friends, ask them. They'll get you one.

Also, you could contact the missionaries and ask them to meet you someplace other than your home.

They will call. It's no obligation. There is a referal center at the Missionary Training Center in Provo, Utah. That's who will call you. If you want someone to stop by in person, you will be able to tell them that, if not, no worries.
