You won't get anywhere trying to argue the Trinity by falsely misquoting the Bible...
For the record:
1. No Bible of any credibility from King James back to the Vulgate mentions the word "Trinity". So clearly you are in error.
2. If a new "modern" Bible chooses to modify scripture and insert such words, then it weakens your argument, not strengthens it.

The words "the Father, the Word & the holy ghost" are a later addition to the text, no doubt put there to support the trinity doctrine. Look up the book " A plain introduction to the critisism of the new testament" , Cambridge, 1883, 3rd edition, page 654.
You have to read the context, verses 5 to 8, to see that the passage is solely talking about Jesus Christ, not a trinity or 3 seperate personages, & the 3 that bear record are the components of his being: water, blood & spirit.
Verse 5 clearly states that Jesus is the Son of God, not God himself or part of a trinty.

According to the Catholic Athanasian Creed:
1. There are said to be three divine persons—the Father, the Son, and the holy spirit—in the Godhead.
2. Each of these separate persons is said to be eternal, none coming before or after the other in time.
3. Each is said to be almighty, with none greater or lesser than the other.
4. Each is said to be omniscient, knowing all things.
5. Each is said to be true God.
6. However, it is said that there are not three Gods but only one God.
I invite you to search the Bible, especially the 27 books of the Christian Greek Scriptures, to see for yourself if Jesus and his disciples taught a Trinity. As you search, ask yourself:
1. Can I find any scripture that mentions “Trinity”?
2. Can I find any scripture that says that God is made up of three distinct persons, Father, Son, and holy spirit, but that the three are only one God?
3. Can I find any scripture that says that the Father, Son, and holy spirit are equal in all ways, such as in eternity, power, position, and wisdom?
Search as you may, you will not find one scripture that uses the word Trinity, nor will you find any that says that Father, Son, and holy spirit are equal in all ways, such as in eternity, power, position, and wisdom. Not even a single scripture says that the Son is equal to the Father in those ways—and if there were such a scripture, it would establish not a Trinity but at most a “duality.” Nowhere does the Bible equate the holy spirit with the Father.
The phrase: "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word (Jesus), and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one" in 1 John 5:7 has been discovered to be spurious. And even if it weren't, how does it prove the trinity? Does it say that all three are co-equal, co-eternal, and almighty? Does it say that all three are called God and combine to make God? NOT EVEN CLOSE!!
The trinity is a false doctrine.

Pagan Trinity
If the Trinitys roots are pagan - Then why do most Christians believe in it?
Historically, Father-Mother-Child was much older wide-spread trinity. The Christian doctrine of the trinity -- Father, Son, and Holy Ghost -- was not formalized until the 4th or 5th century C.E., yet the historical concept of a triune deity is much older than that, with evidence dating from the 7th millennium B.C.E. Even in early Christianity, this trinity had a female member, the Holy Ghost. As recorded in the scriptures of early Christians, the Gnostic scriptures, The Holy Ghost was envisioned as Sophia, the Goddess of Wisdom (C *). The Holy Ghost's symbol, a dove, is an ancient Goddess symbol, well-known in the days of early Christianity, as was the concept of Wisdom as female, Sophia. Father, Mother and Child (often a Savior-Son) is an ancient trinity, naturally reflected in the world around us.
Maiden, Mother and Crone -The oldest known trinity, is based on real-life cycles: youth, the maiden; fullness of life, the mother; elder years, the crone.

NASB:
7For there are three that testify:
8the Spirit and the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement
NIV
7For there are three that testify:
8the Spirit, the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement
And people accuse Jehovah's Witnesses of 'changing' the bible to fit their beliefs.
Using 1 John 5:7 to 'prove the trinity' is like pointing at the sun and saying "see the earth is standing still, and the sun rotates around it."

How old is that translation. Read on to 1 John 5:20 "we are in him that is true"... Can we really be IN GOD? Another translation says "...we are in UNION with the true one, by means of HIS son Jesus Christ... Examine the Bible CLOSELY.

No I do not Believe in the Bible. I question the "Trinity" because it's irrational. If you looked past your circular argument of "the Bible is true Because the Bibe said so", You would realize this. Salam

Because the trinity is not a Bible teaching,Jesus says his Father is greater than him(John14:28) Jesus said that he is God's Son(John10:36) God himself said that Jesus is his beloved Son(Matthew3:16,17)Are both Jesus and God lying? No,the trinity is not truth.
