A panic attack can feel like you are having a mental break down. They can be very intense and make you feel as tho you are out of control, going crazy.
The thing with panic attacks is if you dont have it treated, it could lead into agoraphobia, it is a great fear of having another attack, so you start to avoid things that you may think is causing you to panic in the first place.
Like driving a car, going shopping, etc...

I hope you dont suffer with any more Panic attacks.
I know how they feel.

Nervous breakdown is not really a scientific term. It is used by people to mean any number of things. The manic phase of bipolar illness, a panic attack, a psychotic episode, and many other problems may be referred to as a "nervous breakdown". It can also refer to what happens when people try to bottle up stress or tension and then finally let go. Here are some warning signs that let you know someone needs immediate help or attention. Get help right away for someone who is:
* seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting, or feeling something that is not there,
* threatening to hurt or kill someone,
* threatening or trying suicide, or
* not making sense in what he or she says.

You most likely did have a panic attack, they are not life threatening but can feel very frightening. If the feelings return you might want to see a doctor to rule out medical problems and find the cause.

It feels really bad but it differs with people. Mine started with actual body soreness, aches (like I've never felt before). Felt like I had been mildly 'beat up). After two days of that I started the anxiety attack. That anxiety just plunked into my chest and wouldn't leave. It was continuous. Felt like a very major scared feeling but I didn't know what I was scared of. I only wanted to stay in bed, under the covers. I wasn't able to function, sleep, didn't want to eat or do anything else but lay there. I had never had this happen before. And at the time I was having some serious issues going on in my life. A couple of days like this & my family forced me into seeing my doctor (bless their hearts). Long story short; I went to some group therapy classes, started an anti-anxiety/anti-depression medication. It saved my life. I couldn't shake the problem myself. I know that some people have panic attacks once in a while so maybe you should search out some group therapy & hopefully you won't need any meds. I wish you well.

Having a break down, you have intense feelings of not caring about anything about the consequences of, your actionsright then and there. All your anger is focused on giving up and thinking its all over and never will be better. You become nervous easily any little thing can set you off and you cry alot. You feel like your drowning within yourself and cant seem to shake off your negative feelings. It seems impossible to relax and its more like being in a haze, because all the negative energy consumes your thoughts ideas and emotions.

it basically feels like you can't breathe and that you are having a heart attack. you can have heart palpitations and cold and hot flashes. you feel like you are going to die but at the same time you pretty much know that you are not. your arms may get tingly and your muscles may even tighten up and not really work. it can be very scary. when this happens to you try to call someone if you are home alone. do some deep breathing exersises or meditate. drink some calming tea and steer away from caffine because that will just agitate it at the time. i hope this helps

to me it always feels like falling and you have nothing to hold onto , just thoughts and feelings racing in all directions... its confusing and if you are experiencing panic attacks it might be a good idea to talk to someone about it. I always found saying something out loud about my feelings has always grounded me.
