Simple. People want to make friends. People want to mix with people. If there is no show off, others will be confused, to whom to choose friend. Dress well according to the occasion. If in Rome behave as Romans.

Sometimes its necessary to do show off or you will get underestimated and some case its not that much needed
and it depend on individual attitude people think that their achievement are higher than anyone else that they do ,
and last category and the most common category is the people don't have anything whatever they got they will show like a villager go back to their village after working in a city ,i hope you got my point

Human nature to want to better one's self...I guess the second nature is let everyone know you are....I try really hard not to show off...but that somehow makes me feel better than the show offs...and that is kind showing off too, lol

what i tnk is most people have a low self esteem or they ar jelous of some one else and they do not want to admit it to themself...it si kind of like a self defence ...they tnk when they show off people are just going to listen to wat they say and forget to see the persons flaws....but as we know it doed the opposite effect na ...it is real hard to be around then and real self control not to laught at them...deep down they need all the assurance they can get ..when they do not get from others they do it them selves so bare with them

Pride and ego. Two words to describe them. The rest craving for recognition and the feeling of low self esteem as described by others.

Yes,they are right.They feel insecure(they have reason to be) and try to make up for it.Many people just enjoy being ooh-aahed over.The best obvious way to put them in place is to pooh-pooh them.
