I would suggest that you do a study of home school, make a report and present it to your parents.
This would impress them that you know how to investigate and that it is not just a fleeting idea.
In this study, you should determine your learning style and what type curriculum would be best for you. Your research should lead you to bargain textbooks and used curriculum.
You should be able to find local home school groups. Most of us home school people love to help others find out the advantages of home education.

I KNOW! There is a program that is called Alpha Omega SOS - Switched on School house. There are two ways it can be used, one being just purchase the program upload it, set it up and get busy!

The second is go through their Academy. They are a bit expensive, but worth it and less costly than most Academys.

Weather you choose to purchase the program and have your mom, aunt etc.. be the teacher or you join their academy, you still work from home regardless of which you choose.

Now, I will say this, if you join their Academy, they have certified teachers onsite that will assist you and they are a phone call away, AND they are accredited. So, if you ever go back to public schools, your credits are accepted. Which is important to some. Not to us, but some...

Here are the links below - When you get to the AOP site, click on homeschool and then choose Switched on School House.

Or click on the Academy, they are there to answer all your questions.

Also I have included a link for Home School Legal Defense Association. They are a band of Attorneys that protect and defend the rights of homeschoolers, it is recommended that you join their membership.

You must also file a form called "intent to homeschool" with your public school that you currently attend. The HSDLA site will assist you in all your questions. If you have more questions, my email is info@kokca.org. I am a Private Christian School Teacher...

First off you need to find out the laws for the state you reside in. Go to the HSLDA site and find them out. Write out what the law is and then write a list of why you want to be homeschooled. If you can do a pro/con type of list of being homeschool versus public school. Then get your parents and discuss this with them. First by doing all this on your own, it will make it appear that you gave some thought into it and it will also help you understand why you want to be homeschooled. Sinc eyour mom works part time, it really wouldn't be that difficult to have her facilitate your education. Remember homeschooling doesn't always have to follow a M-F 7-3pm timeframe, you can easily homeschool any hours that you want. Thats one of the perks of homeschooling, you can set your own timeframe for what works with your family situation!

Good luck to you

You should learn as much as you can about homeschooling - and then talk to your parents about it. There are many different ways to homeschool and even more possible curriculums available. When you decide to homeschool you could use the library as a resource and purchase textbooks from sources such as ebay. You may also want to look into joining *local* homeschool groups (IRL or online) -- they can be a great resource for information and support. I don't think your mom working part-time should be a problem. You can do independent work while she is at work and she can help you with your studies when she is home - I don't think the time of day (or evening) she works with you should matter. You don't mention "official" high school credits - but if that is an issue for you or your parents there are lots of ways to homeschool with 'official' credits - here are links to a few: http://www.clonlara.org/ - http://www.keystonehighschool.com/ - http://www.americanschoolofcorr.com/
Here is a link to a site where you can find out about the homeschool laws in your state: http://www.hslda.org/hs/state/default.asp
And this is one of my favorite homeschool sites for people just starting out: http://homeschooling.gomilpitas.com/
And here are some more good homeschool info sites: http://www.homeedmag.com/ - http://www.americanhomeschoolassociation.org/ - http://www.midnightbeach.com/hs/ - or just do a Yahoo or Google search for homeschooling or home education. :)

I started homeschooling as a teenager , and we used American Home school. You should be able to go to there web site and get information. My mom worked a full time job with this curriculum and I did the work on my own. Also you get a real diploma when you graduate. You can also call and get help from real teachers. Plus its affordable and you can even do monthly payments if needed.

If you were my child, I would ask you a LOT of questions to find out what is really going on in your head. Is a person - student, other adult or teacher bothering you at school? Are you bored with the curriculum or do you find it challenging beyond frustration? If so let's get help and put you where you need to be.

Who do you talk to at school? What are the names of the kids in your class? Describe them. If you can't answer these questions you are not learninmg the skills you need in life...

I'm a working mom and you are asking me to either quit, which takes away some of your new clothes, our family vacation. and my car. Or you are asking me to have my part time job PLUS a full time one being your teacher and principal, which means I will have less time for housework - you will have to pitch in 1- 2 hours more every day, less time to take you to soccer practice - in fact I am sure you will have to quit. Are these things you really want to sacrifice?

Are you really planning on working for your education or do you think you will get out of bed at 10 and be done with your schooling at noon and do whatever you please the rest of the day? Summer is here, prove to me now that this is what you truly want, pick a subject and design a research project, I'll help with the design if you need me to. I will grade it and I will be tough.

I hope this mother has helped you, if not go to the woman who knows you best - honest she does!

A lot of state have difference laws about homeschooling, your school should have that information. Talk to your parents about it. I also agree that Abeka system, under Pensacola Christian Academy in Florida, would be the best going into high school, they have a good correspondences course that keeps track of your credits so you can graduate with a standard high school diploma.
