Not really.
Before someone is "saved," breaking one moral law will bar you from heaven and everyone above the age of reason has broken at least one moral law.
However after being "saved," a Christian is expected to try to live a sinless live. But occassionally we will fail.
This is where mortal and venial sins come in.
A mortal sin is a grave infraction of the law of God that destroys the divine life in the soul of the sinner (sanctifying grace), constituting a turn away from God. For a sin to be mortal, three conditions must be present: grave matter, full knowledge of the evil of the act, and full consent of the will.
Most of the sins we commit are venial sins. Venial sin is a sin which does not destroy the divine life in the soul, as does mortal sin, though it diminishes and wounds it. Venial sin is the failure to observe necessary moderation, in lesser matters of the moral law, or in grave matters acting without full knowledge or complete consent.
However consistent unrepentant venial sins can slowly destroy your relationship with God and become mortal sin.
People die all the time with venial sins on their conscience and they will go to heaven.
With love in Christ.

Even that the impact on people's life are not the same, killing is as sinful as coveting thy neighbour's wife. Why? Because the whole thing is that both actions are against God's will.

No. What it means is that one little white lie will do as much to keep you out of heaven as Stalin killing millions of innocent people. God doesn't grade on a curve. No one will come into the presence of a totally Holy, Righteous God with any sin(even a little white lie) on their record. The man who's lived his whole life with just one little sin will be rejected from entrance into heaven just as fast as Adolph Hitler. Only perfect people ever enter the presence of a Holy, Righteous God. Since no one is perfect, there had to be another plan. God the Father supplied the alternate plan. He sent His Son to pay for the sins of the world so that anyone who accepts what His Son did is declared guiltless because his sins were already judged on the cross and now from a legal standpoint, he is guiltless and perfect. If I committed murder and was given the electric chair and my father took my place and went to the electric chair for me then I would go free because from a legal standpoint my crime against society had already been paid for. I committed the crime so from a practical standpoint I was still guilty but from a legal standpoint I would have a clean record.
So as far as entering heaven is concerned, one sin will keep you out just as much as all Hitlers murders without the Blood of Christ. For those who don't make it to heaven and end up in hell then it's a different story. There are degrees of punishment in hell. The Hitlers and Stalins will find hell far more severe than the little white lie people.

When we say that all sins are equal, what we mean is that any sin will keep you out of heaven. Everyone needs a Savior. (So Jesus was provided by God)
So all sins will keep you from heaven, but not all sins are equal. Of course murder is much worse than a lie -- and the consequences are justly more severe.

When we know that whatever we are doing is not right, then it is better to stop it. I know that addiction to anything is hard to stop, so if we ask God to help us, He will. I have known many who were addicted to alcohol, drugs, sexual immorality, video games, anger got ridden of it because they let God change thier lives.
Disobeying God is sin, thats why Adam and Eve were punished so severly. And always the motive behind each sin is also bad like for murder its mainly anger, revenge then for coveting neighbour's wife is lust. Even if we dont do murder or covet neighbour's wife the revenge or lust we have in us is wrong.
21 "You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, 'Do not murder, and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.' 22 But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment.
27 "You have heard that it was said, 'Do not commit adultery.' 28 But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

Yep. Matthew 5:27 - 28. God sees us all as sinners - no differentiation. This is amazing to me - since I have a tendency to gauge sinfulness but God does not measure it - a sin is a sin and any kind is blasphemy before God. His righteousness cannot co-exist with it. Thus we are all doomed to hell. Fortunately, Christ died for our sins providing the only means to forgiveness. We must accept his free gift or pay for our own sins in hell. Free will afterall.

Any sin keeps us out of heaven, which is why Christ has to be the sacrifice for us. That is what this is trying to say. We are guilty of all. However, you be the judge, what will you reap here for killing someone? There are consequences that are totally different for sins. The scripture is not trying to say you might as well kill someone as do any little sin. It's telling the self-righteous ones who believe they are better than others that all are concluded as under sin. All are guilty of all. We have to have Christ.

Same!
Whether you are hammered with a bombardment of evil thoughts, or just a desire to commit a "small" sin (there is no small sin to God!)... those desires to do evil came from Satan.

All sin has the same spritual result, it separates you from God.
So a lie and killing are equally bad to God.
However, earthly results make them have varying degrees of negative perception. Murder has a much greater negative impact on a person than a lie does. So, to people they are not equal. But, to God, they are.
