It's kind of like that scripture where Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life." But they are more like what god fits "my way", "my truth", my life". Oh my! Sounds like we are all wanting to worship ourself and find "some" little god out there to believe in us? What is everyone elses thoughts?

It's like people aren't willing to conform to the God who IS, but rather they want the God who IS to conform to the God they want Him to be. Since God is who He is and He doesn't conform to any human's ideas of what He should be, people who are stubborn and unwilling to accept God for who He is because it means they might have to change who THEY are, often create their own god(s) to serve them and cater to the way they want to believe. This is an age-old concept that has been going on since the beginning of time. People don't like to step out of their comfort zones. God requires that we see things from His perspective before He will draw Himself close to us. Sometimes, He even draws Himself close to us IN ORDER for us to see things from His perspective. He however, is the only God capable of actually having a relationship with us. As relationships require a give and a take, and they require maintenance to keep them strong, many people opt for the false god worship because they don't have to step out of their comfort zone.
