what are the lightest wheelsets avaliable today?(for MTB)
for how much too?

the lightest set ive seen is the Mavic Crossmax SLR. they are 1420g (about 3.2lbs). these babies retail between $1000-$1100. the runner up is the SLR disc, which is 1580g.

They can go for over 1,000. I'm not sure about the lightest ones, probably some Industry 9, or Mavic....

dt swiss makes the lightest available mountain wheels:
dt swiss 240 front hub-non disc-96grams
dt swiss 180 rear hub-non disc-190grams
dt swiss 14guage tianium spokes/nipples-10grams per wheel (32 hole)
dt swiss 32 hole non disc xc rims (i forget the number)-300 grams each:
total build weight-Front=410gm
rear-500gm
(youre talking about road bike weight)
The set runs $1700.
