I've heard them all "ba-fah-met" "ba-foh-met" "ba-foh-may" etc. and now I truthfully need the answer. Does anybody REALLY know???

It is definitely "baff-oh-may ".
The legendary "God" of the Knights Templar, Baphomet is described by Ritual Magician Eliphas Levi as a symbolic intermingling of opposites. Some believe the name derives from the Arabic Mahomet, wisdom, others believe it is a Kabbalistic cipher for the Goddess Sophia
