tetragrammaton the 2 lettered name from the exodus abbreviated Yod heh vau heh or yhvh y=fire h=water v=air h final=earth then add shin in the middle yhshvh or joshua which is jesus in hebrew then there is shadai el chai =almighty living god then Adonia =lord then EL i forgot that one then there is IAO alpha omega check out the logo for paramount films the mountain is the alpha and the omega is the stars then INRI which has many meanings then Elohim and more like yhvh tzbaoth and yhvh elohim and then there are angelic names but these are just some hebrew divine names and have an amzing effect when chanted and meditated on. then there are many Enochian names but you can check them out if you dare . Remeber when the pharoah asked moses what is the name of your God he said I am that i am AHYH and jesus said it too when pontuis pilate asked if he was the king of the jews it means that you can never know the true name of God. like saying I am not a god you can control and invoke I AM THE GOD.Because the Jews were monotheistic some would use different names of God for different purposes. As opposed to praying to different Gods for different purposes they used the same God just a different name. Then there is the Tao which is not a name. The Tao that can be expressed is not the true Tao for the true Tao cannot be expressed. Just to show that God is a word used to express that which can not be fully grasped in our limited conscoiusness. Our idea of God is limited but God is not. Once you meet the buddha slay him slay the image of what you thought was God for a greater perception of God and this is pretty much an eternal thing. Some may even say the E=mc2 formula is a divne name.

If you will pick up the Bible you will find many names for God such as: I am , Jehovah, Counselor, Almighty God, Prince of Peace,Jesus Christ. The Bible says if any man lack wisdom let him ask of God that giveth to all men liberally and unbradeth not. Remember God knows what your needs even before you ask be heartful for the spiritual values of God and not so much of material things, for when you pray in faith don't doubt and be patient and if it is according to Gods will it shall be given you .

Yes, the most High God of the universe, has, a name it but, most people say it is God or Lord, and they believe that those are his name, but that would be like calling you man or human, those are titles, not names. You have a name, I have a name, everyone has a name and everyone feels they deserve to be called by their names, don't you think that God deserves to be called by his, name too? After all he is the most high God Jehovah(Psalms83:18). Jesus showed the importance of God's name in his model prayer he modeled for his desciples(Mathew6:9)the first thing that Jesus there prayed for, was that God's name be sanctified or held holy, so how can God's name be sanctified or be held holy if it is replaced with God or Lord? In another prayer to God Jesus showed to God that he was holding his name holy. How? He said:"And I have made your name known to them and will make it known, in order that the love with which you loved me may be in them and I in union with them."(John17:26)In Exodus9:16)God shows by what he says there that making his name known in all the earth is part of his purpose. Calling God by his tiltleGod or Lord is not making his name knownor using Gods name. Yes God wants us all to know his name and to use it.

The name of the Judeo-Christian god was unspeakable and was represented by the four initials YHVH. Scolars are not sure if it is pronounced Yahweh, Yahveh or Jehova.
Come to think about it....
If there is only one God, does he have to have a name?
Just don't say "hey, you..." He hates that.

yeah, Mr.God. Honestly, Yes and No. Yes because there obviously is, but no due to the fact that Almost Every religion looks toward a Godly figure and is thus named to differently to differ from other religions besides it's laws/attributes and etc. but it the end it's just god, or rather A God. think about it like this, some people believe that they can be their own god, so if "bob" or whatever, believes so then his gods name is....BOB!

There are different names for God in different religions, such as Allah in Islam or E-lohim in Judaism. Some religions, like Judaism, have several names for God to represent God's various attributes.

Exodus 6:3 (King James Version)
3And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.
God has many titles. God is a Title.
Isaiah 12:2 (King James Version)
2Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.
Christ Jesus said in prayer to his Father the following:
“I have made your name manifest to the men you gave me out of the world. They were yours, and you gave them to me, and they have observed your word. 7 They have now come to know that all the things you gave me are from you; 8 because the sayings that you gave me I have given to them, and they have received them and have certainly come to know that I came out as your representative, and they have believed that you sent me forth." -John 17:6-9
