Ignore them. Find witnesses that your dog is OK, if needed, and remember that they must prove that the dog has attacked someone with physical proof, confirmed by a hospital. Just make sure your dog is indeed well-behaved and that everything is done by the book (that he doesn't bark, that he is vaccinated and healthy, that there is no smell, dirt etc.).

like someone mentioned is thereason because when you go towork the dog is noisey? or is it becaus ethey arejsut chicken ****'s point being , WHile If your within thelegalaspect of your lease , the dog is kept up medically with all its shots etc..ie: a perfect tenant, and you dont allow it to eliminate without cleaning up after it in areas around the complex there isn't much they can say.. BUT, Un fortunantly the Burden is on you to keep the dog above average with his citizenship and yours...1) when the cops get called the burden is on you to prove everything is good , its on you to Maintain... each time this happens the burden gets larger .. if someone calls numerous times the authorities are going togive the caller thebenefit of the doubt 1st.. Until they prove they are ignorant stupid or....also animal allowed rents are nearly impossible to find these days even paying premiums because of the attitudes of some of the fol;ks who posted here, I agree Screw em, however unfortunately you have that Burden of proof hanging over your headwhen you leave the tenancy and there is damage caused By the animal, dont say thats what security deposits are for, take the responsible attitude,we caused the holes inthe yard, fix the holes in the yard etc...whether they arescared of the animal, or more likely the animal woke someone up whne they were having a bad morning is enough to set people off, Robert frost wrote good fences make good neighbors , in this day and age the fence better be 12 high concrete with electrifacation :) I agreeyou should approach the people and see if they are loopy or if there is something this issue stems from...including they're own physcosis.. face it Some folks just hate things that are warm and fuzzy simple as that .. maybe they are jealous or something find out
I should mention If my dog is in MY yard which is fenced in and she barks 3 times She is called in imeadiately we have animals in every house on the street however I dont want to hear her barking at everything much less listen to anyone elses dog barking insesantly being 40 feet from the Train station on the Comuter line into NYC as wekll as the NE corridor for AMtrack its not quiet here but she's still corrected and expected to be good,.. I ask My neighbors Often if she's been any way shape or fom a problem whne i am gone just to see..they always say shes10 times more behaved then... theys or others in the neighborhood... The one across the street barked for about 6 hours today..Inside Like I said keep tabs on the goings on and be a good citizen, if the cops are ever called your neighbors around them Could make or break your and they're respective cases the people next door complain but the guy below/above the dog says he neverknows the dog is home..... or would you prefer yeah tahts right bark barkl bark.. all the time.... lol think about it

Take your dog out for a walk or run, regularly and often. Why have you got a big dog when you live in an apartment?
Have you asked your neighbours why they don't like you having the dog?
If your dog is exercised, well cared for, isn't left alone all day, and doesn't bark at unreasonable times, ignore the neighbours

Your neighbors have an irrational fear of your dog, most likely stemming from the fact that Doberman Pinschers were once used heavily as guard and attack dogs (and maybe they still are). However, as you and any other good dog owner can attest, a properly trained dog of ANY breed (Rottweiler, Doberman, Pit Bull, German Shepherd, etc.) can be as gentle as a teddy bear, while a small tiny dog can bite, and cause damage. It's just that people feel they can handle a tiny dog, while they fear that they cannot handle a bigger dog.
Still, if your dog has caused no problems, then basically tell your neighbors that your dog has been properly trained, has all necessary shots, is only walked on his leash and has never attacked anyone. If they continue to harass you about him, you will report them to the police. That may finally shut them up (but be prepared for them to try to call the police on you - they sound like really pains in the butt). If your dog is within your propery and has never caused problems, your neighbors have no legal standing. Just be sure that they aren't so cruel as to try to poison your dog (some people are that mean). So watch for your dog eating something odd or sniffing in bushes around your home.
Good luck!

If you dog has not done anything, is well trained and well behaved I would not get rid of the dog. Ask why they want you to get rid of her, is she barking while you are away for instance? If she is doing something take steps to prevent, or train her to not do what ever it is. My neighbors told me they prefer my multi dog household to the neighbor that has 1 dog because mine are all obed. trained, well cared for and either like kids or do not go near them when outside. I own a Dobe and know how ignorant people still fear them. Take her to an obed. class and practice where people can see her plus train her to do tricks and show her off. If possible have a BarBQue with a few friends on the common ground and show them your dog is well behaved. Invite friends' well behaved dogs over too. Get her Therapy Dog title to prove she is a good dog and if there are problems and she is in an obed. class your trainer can testify she is well behaved. Even a Canine Good Citizens title has impressed insurance agents into insuring their owner's prop. cuz the dogs are social and well behaved thus less likely to bite. Do not put a spiked leather type collar on her for show as it gives the wrong idea, along with a training collar you can put a handkerchief around her neck as people view a dog with one as less threatening.

Document their idotic behaviours / claims when ever they occur & keep a journal or what ever on your dogs actions like say if she was in the hall & met the neighbours & ignored them or woofedat them or she played with kids , went out doors to play , etc in such cases documentation is key - you could get your dog temperment tested if the kennel clubs run such events there - pure & mix beeds can do such a test &its usualy ony 40 dollars tests dogs obedience & reaction to certian situations etc ... Get witnessed who can vouch that your dogs not vicous etc & onceyou havethat in place -if they keep complaining forno reason - tell them to ceist and desist or have a 'lawyer' 'fake' (have friend sign it so it looks official but don't say they are a lawyer- (use legal jargon though ) or really have a lawyer writeup a letter -or even casualy mention you'elawyerwill be contacting them- even if they don't

they can go to the enviormental health department of your council, and report a nuisance,,as you live in a flat, get the support of the other neighbours, and make sure she has no reason for complaining, make a list of all her complaints and right down what the dog was doing at the time, keep a dog diary if you like,so they are shown to be unreasonable, mind you hope the flats a big 1, as they do need lots of space.

Personally I hate neighbour disputes, they can get out of hand. If you want whats best for your dog then I would try to buy or rent a place that's got a garden. It doesn't have to be massive but enough for the dog to have a bit of outside space to call his own.

Why do they hate your dog? Does your dog bark all day, or try to intimidate people you encounter? If you are a responsible pet owner, your pet should not be receiving all this grief! If the problem is really their's, you should begin looking for a new apartment, preferably one that is more welcoming of large breed dogs. Ideally, I'd like to see you get a house with a yard, so the dog could run around in your fenced-in yard, and get some exercise. Good luck!

When you say your dog does not annoy anyone then this is incorrect as your dog clearly annoys your neighbours. When it barks you do not hear it.....but they do. When it poops all over the place you do not see it........but they do. You may not be afraid of it...but they are.
It is ant-social to own a dog but even more so when you live in a flat. Is your dog more important to you than the people with whom you have to live and share the common areas?
Get rid of the dog get rid of your problems.
