I mean if it's to pass on Knowledge and help others understand what you mean, is being hateful rude and obnoxious the Key?
Or is it that there is so much pent up anger against God that they Just have to erupt and vent?

Amen gurl,

I am so tired of people calling Christians and other religious people (but most often Christians) ignorant for the fact that they have faith.

Honestly, if you believe in NOTHING why would you spend your time trying to get evybody else to un-believe?
It KINDA asserts that you believe in something indirectly and dislike it.

The 'best' atheist that I have known simply keep that business to themselves rather than being exhibitionists

Don't be ridiculous! How in the hell can we have "pent up anger" at a freagin fairy tale? We are hostile towards the top gremlins advocates.
Oh, but I forget, we're dealing with people who think tinkie winkie is gay.

Anyway, to answer your question, no, and I no longer give a rat's *** who doesn't like it.
I used to give long and patient explanations, trying to cover everything and using the simplest logic understandable by most children.
But "they" would then attack me, and they weren't kind about it either. Still, I persisted, sometimes losing my temper but just as often being brought back in line by some other more rational opponent.
Then bush got elected and the floodgates opened. Hordes of not just non-intellectual but anti-intellectual dittoheads swarmed out from under the rocks thinking their idiocy had found an official voice.
They were right. Bush & co is the epitome of the evils of theistic politics. Religious legislation was passed. More radical religious legislation is pending, including a christian based constitutional disclaimer that REMOVES rights from certain american citizens which is contrary to the constitutions purpose of rights recognition. Fundamentalist groups in kansas successfully executed a plot (yes, a genuine as defined by webster's PLOT) to install religious fundamentalists on the schoolboard.
I could go on and on, but I won't. Why? It doesn't do any good.
I have learned never to suffer fundies or grant them any quarter whatsoever. Screw'em.

No, being hateful rude and obnoxious is NOT the Key. The key is to say things like the Bible is a good story for kids but it does not sound to be the word of God. Harry Potter reads better.

I would have expected God to be a little mathematical. Perhaps would have said few things about computers?.

I think that if people post stupid questions, they ought to be called on it. they haven't given it thought...you can tell. Or they want to just preach at you, and that's just pride. Everyone recognizes pride, and it rankles. Insulting people takes them down a notch. Humility is the way of the "Christian", is it not? Say idiotic things on this board, and people will call you on it. And when they answer questions as if they are qualified to, that's even worse.

You can tell people that have kind hearts, and you can tell the *******. You can tell which ones are learned, and which ones are really a brick or two short of a load. Sometimes, you can tell if someone is drunk or stoned, and sometimes, just sometimes, can't you see them bent over their screens, the light from there illuminating their faces, their troll like-glee etched therein?

I can.

I believe it is a way for them to feel superior to others, kind of like in school when you pick on others thinking it makes you smarter or stronger. Without an intelligent answer to use, insults seem the only way to go for some.

against A God, you mean? Sorry, your question is general religion and your description singles out God...just a thought.

anyway...no it doesn't help but it makes the person feel bigger because they are anonymous and know that you can't do anything more than 'talk' back to them.

When people are blind and they don't understand the real true about God and Devil, Heaven and Heal you must let they do what they want to do, because God didn't say that we must be preoccupied what other people do..He says:" Believe in Me and all your sins will be forgiven!" everybody is responsible with himself....!

If someone finds me rude, that's their own interpretation of my answer. I usually try to be humorous but answer how I really would if someone asked me the same question in person.

apparently some tend to think so. (of faith and lack of it)

we should all take note that no one, with an opposing view, will take your words to heart if your are being intolerant and disrespectful. if anything they might retaliate and stand by their view more so... i mean if you are a living example of what your knowledge has to offer, and your being an ******, who is going to want what you have?

Malicious posting works for neither side. It's equally distasteful, whether coming from theists or non-theists.
