Depends on how much padding you have but either way, its gonna hurt.

Um yes I do, I got my first tattoo which is on my right shoulder blade a few months ago, I just went in and got it touched up a few weeks ago. It hurt bad when it hit the bone, I'm really skinny in my upper back and it was pretty painful because I swear I could feel it hitting the bone. But I am a sissy and I didn't even have to stop for a break or anything. If I can hang then so can you, best advice just focus on breathing and you may not feel as much pain. Good luck!

It doesn't feel good, that's for sure, but it's not any kind of inbearable pain.

My first one was on the back of my shoulder, and it wasn't bad at all. As far as my experience, that's one of the best places to get one, because it's not bony there. As a general rule, the thinner the skin, the worse it'll hurt.

I've gotten 7 other ones since then, and the ones on my ankle and shin bone hurt the worst.

Some people describe it as a stabbing, but to me it's more of a burning feeling. Like a really bad indian burn or something.

The artist will always start of with a few small lines to get you used to it, and will stop and give you a break whenever you need it. Also, I find the coloring in part to hurt much less than the outline, because they usually go in little tiny circles.

And just be aware: once you get your first one, they are totally addictive.

Hope that helps!

My first tattoo was on the small of my back, and that hurt horribly. When I got my 2nd one, I was scared of the pain. Got it on my right shoulder blade and I barely felt anything at all. In fact I almost fell asleep. It all does depend on you...tolerance to pain, size, amount of skin or fat where you're getting it...lots of stuff. I can't wait to go back and get another one, and I will more than likely get it on my other shoulder blade. Good luck :)

i guess it really just depends on your own personal pain tolerance. But from my experience, it didnt really hurt. It was my first tattoo when i was 16 and of course there was slight discomfort but when the feeling is so constant like that eventually you just get used to it and its not so bad. When the needle gets closer towards your arm/armpit the feeling gets a little more intense becaues its a sensitive area but its nothing unbearable. you'll be fine!! make sure its something you really like and are okay with having on you for the rest of your life. Other than that, i say go for it!

I think it might hurt since its bone but everyone tolerates pain different. I know when I got my tattoo on my back/shoulder it hurt kinda at first and then I could barely feel it, like I was numb. So, I'd say go for it, I've been thinking about getting one there too, well everywhere really. :-) Good luck

Well it depends on your tolerence for pain and how bony that area is on you. Close to bone or even muscle is very sensitive.
