Our constitution guarantees us the freedom of religion without government regulation, thus, the teacher would have been wrong regardless of whether the book was The Bible, the Koran or Dianetics.
To answer your question, however, I do feel like there would have been a bigger deal made of it if the book in question would have been the Koran.

IF this story is true verbatim, the teacher should have been reprimanded for violating the student's rights and destroying his personal property. This would be true regardless if the religious book were a Bible or the Koran. IF if were the Koran, then a political organization might intervene. There might not be a political organization willing to defend the Bible in this situation (unfortunately). IF either one happened, I would think we would hear about it in the media. Did you find this somewhere or make it up as an interesting hypothetical?

I would be cautious about taking that story seriously if I didn't know the source. It just has the ring of urban legend to me. In reality, if that happened, there would be outrage - rightfully so - on the part of Christian parents in that area, and the rights of the student would be upheld. Same for the Koran.

probably not, the teacher would have been suspended for attacking the koran. i wish that Gods people would stand up and put an end to this nonsense. God is suppose to be first and foremost on our hearts and minds, what has happened to us.didn't the bible tell us to fight the good fight of faith.

the 1st time I remember being dealt with in any different case for examining became into in 6th grade. i became into examining Jane Eyre, and every time somebody observed, i could get those weird and wonderful seems and stupid questions. My English instructor enjoyed me for my style in books, which became into intense high quality until I have been given the instructor's puppy label. Now, as a sophomore, I"m nevertheless seen weird and wonderful with the aid of fact I study the classics. Pull out a e book like As I Lay dying in intense college, and human beings are going to observe. i don't possibly care anymore, nevertheless, so i'm getting a good chortle from people who do. as far as my different, poorly-study classmates, i don't decide them too harshly. not all of us reads, and that i will comprehend that. whether, while they are actually not open to a e book, or they fail to comprehend the books assigned to them in English type, i'm upset. in my opinion, i've got faith childrens could desire to have a miles better examining point than maximum do those days. I remember final twelve months, I almost begged my instructor to offer us greater problematical books. i'm sorry, yet once you are able to not comprehend To Kill a Mockingbird by potential of 9th grade, you're in intense hardship. If childrens do not desire to spend their unfastened time examining, effective. yet they shouldn't decelerate my English type with stupid questions and a loss of expertise for elementary literature. And it does not help my opinion of them understanding that maximum study the Sparknotes particularly than the somewhat e book.

no I have never heard of that happening, and it should not have happened if it did at all.
A student should be free to read the theology of his choice during his free time.
but I would be interested if you could site where such an event happend.

well i really don believe ur story to b true.. anyways i am a muslim.. n i hav taken parts of quran to school n read at free time.. i used to study in a anglo-indian school run by a christian organization n if dat would hav happened den i guess d whole school would hav been in fire.. its all because we give mush more importance in d way d quran is handled.. whereas i hav seen in christianity its not d same importance u give to d bible so how come wil anyone hav d fear dat anythin may happen to him or her for such a rediculous act. the whole thing is how important u ppl consider ur religion. we giv a much higher importance when it comes to quran or to our prophet. we may be behind in social activities in science in technology or even in power or in war tactics or in politics. but v care a lot abt anyone hurtin our sentiments on des issues because we hav seen d proofs abt our religion bein true n may b u could not show those proves to ur ppl n ur christian friends to make dem feel d same abt their religion.

Wait a minute. I was told never to wear my pentacle to school again. Too bad I was too ignorant to do anything about it at the time.
