I know this question has been asked before, and only a few minutes ago for that matter, but my situation is unique! Every night my cats are put outside for the night, but early in the morning my cats will come to my window and scratch at it to come in! My bed is right in front of the window, and they make this terrible sketching sound while scratching! I've tried ignoring many times before, and all they do is meow! When i keep my cats in my room at night they'll wake me either earlier or at the same time by scratching under the door. I already have a spot where there is no more carpet and the landlord is pissed! When i keep them on the other side of the door they'll scratch then too, and it's not an option to keep them out there at night anyway because they spray in the house. They're getting fixed ASAP but for the moment, what can i do? We aren't getting rid of him, that's for one thing! and I'm not changing my room because they'll figure that out QUICK.

get up earlier. cats do what they want, you are their slave now, i know i have 3 inside and feed several strays outside, i have gotten lots of them fixed that wont likely change the hour at which they wish to get up in the morning. and once they start spraying its almost impossible to get them to stop, cats should be fixed before 6 months if possible, and there are lots of programs to help you in that area in many cities, here in las vegas there are doctors who fix the strays and give them the shots for free, but they clip the tip off an ear so they can tell they have been fixed so they arent brought in again. there are some cat owners here rather mad at me, but if their cats are out, which is a no no, they will get in my have a heart traps, and get a free ride to the vet to be fixed and get shots, most people dont think males need to be fixed after all they dont have kittens, well they are wrong , im on a crusade to get all the cats that step a foot on my porch to be fixed.

the cat we have atm usually sets himself outside my half-open window at 3am and start meowing his kitty a*s off. he stopped after being ignored repeatedly.

As for the scratching at the door and the carpet, i guess a well-aimed shoe could do the trick - but you'd have to do it multiple times before he got the hang of not scratching. also, if you restort to this, i advise you not let him know it was you who made the shoe seek out his pointy-eared head - make him think the dor did it. ;P
And don't worry about your cat's health after being hit by the shoe. if it's not a 30 pound boot or something he will just be a bit shocked and scared, but not harmed.

o, and about fixing. we fixed ours before he became an "adult". it doesn't really help. though it might lenghten his life extent.

try moving your bed to the other side of the room if that dose not work then try them in a spear room or even in your room and just live your bed room door open a little bite so they can get out when they need to and it might help to get a cat flap so they can go out side when they want to.

Keep them inside and make sure to feed them well in the evening. Also you can buy an automatic feeder, that opens early in the morning and feeds them. It works with my cat, at least, because th ereason he wants to wake me up is to get fed.

You can't.....just do what kitty wants. Some cats are very good at getting your attention. Lately if I ignore when she wants out, she gets on the back of the couch and tears my son's school work off the wall - it gets me up real fast. Maybe try some ear plugs and good luck!

only thing I can think of is putting caps on his claws. I do the same for my cat, but for his tearing up furniture. www.softpaws.com has them or any petco and such. at least you cant hear the scratching.

change their sleep cycles to your liking. i usually let my cats play in the day and sleep at night. also i would play with them alot to make them lose energy to not bother me at night. otherwise idk.
