Yes, clean with alcohol daily & use either stainless steel earrings or 14k gold !!! Anything less will irritate the holes and cause infection.

Alcohol is the best thing to clean your ears with, and also the earrings. I strictly wear gold earring; a pair of aces and a diamond bobs. Gold earrings can wear with anything.

You must wear the earrings CONTINUOUSLY for at least 30 days. Then, go ahead and change them.
Don't clean them with alcohol - it is very drying. Use the solution they gave you.
