I know this person who tries to sound deep, but all that I want to do is strangle him with my computer mouse; why are people like this and is there a way to get him to shut up with his pseudo-deep self? I already pointed it out, but he is so into himself he can't even see it.

I was going to come up with some pretentious pseudo-deep answer as a joke, but I'm just too tired. It takes a lot of energy to be such a long-winded purveyor of b.s. that means absolutely nothing. You couldn't *possibly* understand what he has been through and how he has come to acquire the knowledge he has.....lol

Hmmm. It sounds to me like he's just trying to overcompensate for a little ego. Perhaps you can irratate him by using made up yoda phrases. Other than that, well, youve tried talking to him so since that didnt work, you just may have to drop him as a friend.
