You could look for last minute all in one packages. When my ex was headed to Mexico for a fraternity anniversary we managed to book it all for 500 including airfare and hotel. You should check with priceline or travelocity or expedia for those. Oh and the Last Minute Travel website.

Unfortunately, a budget that small will likely buy you one airplane ticket (or half of one, depending on where you go!). If you live in CA and want to go to Washington State, that amount might not even buy you your return airfares. (Flights are really expensive in North America!)
Since you live in California, there are probably a lot of small coastal towns that you could drive to and rent a small place on or near a beach for a weekend. As has already been said, your budget will really not get you far. If you can afford to pay more, definitely consider it. Or, go somewhere nearby for that and save up for the next 6 months and go somewhere really fun later on! Many of my friends have done this and just saved their honeymoon for 6 months after the wedding.
Good luck!

Honestly, heres my take on it and one my fiance and I r applying it to r own honeymoon. We rnt going away or spending alot for r honeymood. were going to a local hotel for a few days w/ room service and a private jacuzzi etc. we thought of having the dream honeymoon/vacation, but were worried we wont utilize it the way we would as if we went for a anniversary. In other words ur going to b in bed 95% of the honeymoon go cheap (that doesnt mean u have to go to his parents cabin)
also if u ever saw that movie holiday where they swapped houses thats a real thing. check it out. (if u want a GREAT honeymoon that costs more later on) we found a 2 br mansion (i always thought a mansion had to have like 15 bedrooms guess not) in italy with a hillside swimming pool etc etc etc. its a vacation home to the swappers and theyre not interested in where we live so we rnt swapping but renting their home for a couple wks for r 1 yr anniversary (its cheaper than a hotel!!!) www.homeexchange.com

Why not try a cruise? That way you get to go to different places. The boats stop in at different ports throughout the trip. That way it's like a mini-vacation within a vacation!
I actually just went on Carnival.com and they list some special prices for boats departing from .L.A. Here's the site. It's something the 2 of you could afford! http://www.carnival.com/CMS/static_templates/promos/LA_cruises.aspx?wt.mc_id=Hfeatureddealsbottommiddle

You can not go to Hawaii on that amount, i have been there and i know it costs way more...You could do the cabin thingy for your honeymoon and save money for a Hawaii trip later...Your honeymoon will be great no matter where you go, you two will be together...
You could do Las Vegas for that amount and you wouldnt be in the woods....

What about a cruise? I don't know where you are in CA, but there are probably cruise ships that go out somewhere around where you are, and you can get a lot of great last minute or promo deals on cruises. otherwise, go to Mexico. There are a lot of nice all inclusives, and airfare should be cheap.

Have you thought about asking for your honeymoon for your wedding present from all of your guests? You could set up an online account with one of a number of honeymoon registeries instead of having a guest list. Just be careful which one you choose as some do charge a large commission.
Try entering lots of competitions to win holidays - someone has to win and it could be you!

I'm getting married in Nov. and we chose to go on a cruise to Mexico. I think it's a good idea if you're looking not to spend too much money. Carnival cruise has really good rates. Good luck and Congrats!!

Since you don't have much money to work with, why not save money on airfare and go to a nice resort a couple hours away and with all the money saved indulge yourselves with some couple's spa treatments.
You dont' want to go on a honeymoon where you have to think to yourself "Oh can we afford that?" everytime you want to do something.

I would highly recommend "Yosemite"!! It's in California- and if you plan carefully enough, it doesn't have to be too terribly expensive.
Based on the additional information that you've provided- Las Vegas might be a possible choice.
