Right now the armed services are desperate. They are not meeting their recruiting goals. They have lowered standards and people that would have been rejected in pass years for lack of a high school eduction, minor medical problems, or criminal problems are now being let in. On top of that bonuses and incentives for signing up have never been greater.
Your recruiter would probably take the drug test for you if he could. He'll certainly work with you. It might even be something that can be overlooked. His isn't an easy job. In truth no one in the army puts in more hours or works harder...
"A recruiter in New York said pressure from the Army to meet his recruiting goals during a time of war has given him stomach problems and searing back pain. Suffering from bouts of depression, he said he has considered suicide. Another, in Texas, said he had volunteered many times to go to Iraq rather than face ridicule, rejection and the Army's wrath."
In short, if you want to join. They'll get you in.

Yes they'll still let you join. Lots of f#$# ups like yourself join the Marines, and turn into very respectable Marines after bootcamp. Most recruiters are pretty personable. Just tell them the truth. They will look at that as honorable that you came clean(no pun intended)with them. You're talking about MEPS, right? Get your *** in gear and start preparing for bootcamp! I bet you'll turn out just fine. You've just taken the ASVAB, big deal...that's just the beginning. Now is time to start a new leaf. Stop smokin weed. Go join the Marines. Good luck to you.
BTW, if I was a recruiter, I'd still let you join, but I'd probably be wondering why you kept missing...I can tell when someone lies or makes up excuses, so I'd force the truth outta you. They really can't deny you the right to join just because you've missed a few recruiter appts. That's dumb.

They need people so I think they would. Just know that once you get in there, they will not tolerate stuff like that. They teach you to be on time, be respectful, all that good stuff. Sounds like the Marines would be a good thing for you. If I were the recruiter, I'd let ya in but I would definatly ream you for missing. Don't be scared of that though. They're a lot more tough on you in bootcamp. My baby bro was always respectful before he joined, but he changed for the better after he came home from bootcamp. He's in Iraq right now for a year.

What are you waiting on? You are missing out on a great opportunity. You got past the easy stuff, now you must see what you are made of. And if you still have that problem when you go to boot camp, the drill instructors will fix you, willingly or unwillingly. If I were a recruiter, I'd give you another chance, but don't procrastinate. Just get yourself to boot camp and become a U.S. Marine. You will feel so much pride in yourself, trust me.

You stand up the recruiter 6 times and you want to know if they will let you join? Yeah, they will let you join, but you won't see the same recruiter, I can tell you that.
If you had done that to me, I would have written you off, and kicked you out of the office the next time you walked in. Recruiters don't have time to babysit and hold your hand. If you want to join, do it. You know what you need to do, you are just scared to do it.

If you are honest with the recuiter, I see no problem. The only problem I see is with certain job fields. Don't expect a high level security clearance granted simply due to the close time frame.
Many new military recruits were in similiar shoes when I went to basic training. They sobered quickly.
Many vets are in the same shoes as they are getting out of the military too. I think you will be ok.

Sounds to me like you actually NEED the marines. They will help you overcome the scheduling problems. As far as the weed, they will not let you do it while you are in boot camp but they don't test........Good luck

I don't know its up to your recruiter whether or not he wants to keep scheduling you or not!

I wouldn't let you join. Sorry, but your behavior is indicative of the kind of person who gets good marines killed.
