Today I was eating a turkey burger and I heard a small pop from my mouth and I noticed it was my tooth. This tooth is a baby tooth, because my "adult tooth" is side-ways about the tooth (How I don't know, that what the X-Ray says), so I checked the mirror and it was the baby tooth, I was pissed because one of my teeth chipped and happy because it was only temporary. So I realize the hump that you have about all your teeth, on this tooth its lower, so I start wiggling the tooth, it doesn't wiggle alot but it wiggles a tad-bit. The bad part is, I am graduating 8th grade June 11th and I don't want to be toothless at the ceremony. I know I am going to have to get the tooth pulled or let it fall out, but I want everything to be fixed up nicely by time I graduate. Does it hurt to get a tooth pulled? Can I be put to sleep? They have to put something in my mouth to turn that tooth and bring it down, will that hurt? I hear I will have a brace on my mouth and as I eat and chew it will be pulled down. Can I get some type of brace that isn't visable?

I am thinking about waiting 21 days to get the operation done, I really don't care about having to wear a brace for the summer.

For anyone who has had to have a baby tooth pulled because it was blocking an adult tooth, did you have to have brace put in?

Getting a tooth pulled does not hurt - you just feel pressure. After the Novocain wears off it can be a little uncomfortable for a couple days - but not awful, aspirin or Tylenol should help.

There are braces that go behind your teeth, but I have heard they hurt worse than regular braces. There is also braces called 'invisoline' (sp?) they are clear and can be taken off (for eating etc.)

Lucky you know your tooth is crooked. I missed the dentist for 2, maybe 3 years because i slipped through the system. And my baby tooth was still in and my adult tooth grew behind. Quite far behind actually! I then got told I need a plate, ($500) So really, my tooth probably wouldnt have grown like that if my baby tooth wasnt there. And trust me, you DONT want a plate! If you get the baby tooth out now, then most likely your other tooth will come out fine, though your dentist will know more than anyone here. So after I went to the dentist, he pulled out 3 baby teeth, no needle, just a hook and air to suck up the loose bits. I will admit that it hurt, because I had no needle, and im horrible with pain. Though pulling out teeth doesnt hurt everyone. Then, a weeks later, I needed 2 more teeth out for my plate to be made. He used 1 long needle and put half on each side of the roof of my mouth. It did hurt, he got out the tweesers, and pulled them, I naturally screamed, though it didnt hurt lol. After the needle, half for each tooth it didnt hurt! So im guess the answer is, it normally does, on the needle. After that, nothing hurts! Its amazing! You can be put to sleep, if your parents are willing to pay, then I would take it, but once its gone, it wont be back! There are other things than braces, but if you are graduating in well, now 10 days, you wont have braces then anyway. There is something called Invisalign, have u seen the ratainers that people get after braces? well there those, but you get a certain amount and change them every 2 weeks, so it will move your teeth. Though you need all adult teeth. And no horrid baby teeth. Goodluck

A few years ago I had a baby tooth pulled, because it was blocking the adult tooth, even at age 19. The actual pulling doesn't hurt, because they numb your mouth just like for a cavity. No need to go under general anesthesia. After the novocaine wears off, it hurts for a couple days, but hopefully you will get some good painkillers.

If you need braces to pull down the adult tooth, then that is what you need, braces. Invisalign can't pull down teeth. There are "invisable" braces but quite frankly they are uglier than metal braces. And don't worry about your graduation, I bet half of your classmates have braces too. And I walked at my college graduation with a sprained ankle. You can do it.

No not much at all. I've actually had both done. I can remember the root canal better because it was more recent and it really did not hurt one bit. I was nervous because I heard it was bad, but these days the advancements in dentistry make even a big procedure like a root canal painless. And I had like 5+ dead roots in a couple of my molars which is pretty severe. Yes, there is a lot pain when root damage happens, which tells you something is wrong. But the process of the root canal itself is nothing to worry about. Same with getting a tooth pulled, very simple and minimal pain.

i had a tooth pulled a few years ago because it had an infection. yes, it hurt. they only numbed my mouth, and did not put me to sleep. unfortunately, it still hurt, so the dentist numbed it more... which didnt help very much. im guessing they wont put you to sleep either, since it is only one tooth and it is already grown out. [versus having to cut your gum to pull a wisdom tooth that has not erupted yet]. theres no way youre going to be able to move your tooth in time for it to be in place for your graduation. braces take a LOT of time. spacers alone take 10 days [these little rubberband-like things they put between your molar, so they can put the ring around easier.. the ring holds the wire]. i have braces to fix my overbite. they are pushing my front teeth forward. i have had them for almost 9 month, and theyve seriously only moved a few millimeters.

No it doesn't and you can do what ever you want. Yes manufactures built tooth coloured braces and wires. Some dentists apply their braces to the backside of the tooth so no one can see your braces...

Don't you remember loosing teeth when you were younger? No, it doesn't hurt when they fall out. And, it doesn't hurt if the dentist pulls it because he will numb you. It's just uncomfortable. And, you do not need to be put to sleep.

Getting a tooth pulled does not hurt. They numb your mouth so you don't feel anything. Not sure about the rest of the treatment you need,.
