Theists, especially christians, try to control and restrict us based on their views. If all christians stop crusading against science, culture, art, sex and sexuality, religious freedom and such, and stop telling everybody else they're going to be tortured throughout eternity unless they join you, I assure you that you won't encounter nearly as much hostility.

Christian are supposed to spread share the gospel. So as a Christian ( this might sound like forcing faith on others) i should be friendly to an atheist but i know that if i were to build a loving relationship with an atheist but never share my faith with him/her God would not be pleased. A Christian is supposed to be so filled with the Holy spirit that he/she should want to share Christ with others. That's why i cannot just not care about other peoples religion. Christians are not supposed to bash or battle atheist or any other religious people, but of course we are not perfect, so if an atheist belittles something that is a part of a Christians soul then there might be an ugly battle. Still i don't like when a Christian tries to debate or battle an atheist. Like that dude from the growing pains television show, who is a Christian and had a televised debate with two atheist. For some reason i think thats wrong. I think there is a wrong and a right way God wants Christians to spread their faith. Yeah the bible teaches us to love one another, but also spread the gospel meaning the Christian faith. So that's why i have to care if my brothers an atheist or if my best friend is Hindu.

It's a mix of close-mindedness and selfish pride. On BOTH sides. Most of the time, the aggressive person probably knows little to nothing about the other point of view -- only that "he/she's right and they're wrong". And it's a great feeling asserting how right you are and how wrong someone else is, so naturally, atheists and Christians come into contention.

As it seems like we're never going to stop producing stupid people, I don't think we're ever going to see a day where we don't see an atheist or a Christian fighting. That being said, however, I know many atheists and Christians that respect each others' beliefs and realizes no amount of condescension and shouting can change their minds.

It's not a secret war....I wouldn't even call it a war. I as an atheist do not feel like I am fighting for anything. My issue's are with the nonsense and illogical concepts that organize religion imposes on people. I am also annoyed by people who do not know how to research properly. Instead of goggling a couple of websites It would be helpful to open a book and read. Sadly not many people understand this concept.

I won't say a single derogatory thing about your spelling or your horrible grammar and sentence structure. I am an atheist. I don't really care what christians (or other atheists) believe. I only care about what I have proved to myself. I happen to find sarcasm hysterically funny. I understand that most people of whatever religious persuasion or lack thereof do not have the same sense of humor as I. When others poke fun at me I do not take it personally or find it to be a problem in need of a solution. The reason is that I don't care what other people think. To quote the illustrious Clark Gable "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn." I do not presume to speak for anyone but myself.

I don't have a problem with someone not believing in god, but when they say things like the religious crowd is encroaching on their privacy through the government and the public schools, they need to remember that both are very public institutions that are always going to be testing grounds for alot of different social phenomena in the courts and public opinion. I don't think I've heard of non-religious people's home privacy being invaded by anyone, so that whole position is altogether invalid. You can believe or not believe all you want, just know enough to leave each other alone if there's no middle ground to be achieved.

In seven states, neither atheists nor agnostics can hold a public office.
Creationists are fighting to try to make their mythology have a place in a science classroom.
Efforts are being made by theists to wear away or destroy the wall between church and state.
Stem cell research has come under fire purely based on religious opinion and not scientific grounds.
Theists are trying to inject their literalistic interpetation of the Bible into rewriting astronomy, biology, geology, and history.

When this kind of nonsense affects me, I fight back. It's that simple. If it weren't for this kind of stuff, I'd be perfectly happy to let you worship a head of lettuce for all I care.

It is not a fighting between atheist and Christians but a sort of exchanging opinions of truth or facts about God and the theory of evolution as the atheist believe.

This is not a fight but I do not know to you if you conclude as fight. If you don't believe our God, we can not do anything . We are just explaining and citing some verses of the bible which said that there is God who created us, but if you insist on what you believe, It is okay for us. We will not lost nothing from you people who do not believe.

Anyway we have no relationship ,blood relationship I should say. Do whatever you want to do and we will do whatever we want to believe., but we do not accept that there is a fight. Maybe it is a fight in belief.

Well it's very general to say something like that....not all Christians and atheists are like that...I find it only so throat-cutting online when your identities are pretty much anonymous.

See, Christians are told to spread the Gospel. And that Jesus will not return until all of God's children have heard the Gospel. It's their mission and I think Christians might prefer you to have some kind of belief in a higher power than none at all. They don't understand why an atheist can not believe in anything...some Christians just don't mind their own business, but some do.

Quite simple:

Christian bigots declare that they know what's right.

And atheists know that they lie.

Cynical? Sure. If there were something like God he would not allow those sermonizers to pass off their private neurosis as his will.

Another one:

What do you prefer? Someone likes you as a person or manipulates himself to like you because his priest told him to do so? I myself prefer singleheartedness. You can get along with people if you try to understand them by listening carefully. But most christians I met practice their artifical smiling mask without any reason. My blood runs cold when I meet these robots.

Another one:

Bigotry. You can condemn most statements of christians as untrustworthy. Why? Look at their life - it has nothing to do with the principles of the Sermon on the Mount. It's all about money and raising their reputation, prettily covered with a thick layer of self-deception and lies. They are living a lie.

Who remembers the spanish inquisitions, or the holy crusades of the middle ages, or even the religious war that is going on right now in the middle east. Any sort of theistic religion promotes pride in being ignorant, atheist's are just trying to help you before you start more wars and kill people for your "righteous" beliefs.
