Hi Sal-
I am a plastic surgeon in Houston and can tell you with confidence that only plastic surgery that is deemed medically necessary for your health (such as reconstructions after accidents or after a cancer surgery) will be covered by any insurance.
There are some shady doctors that will tell the insurance company they are doing a medically necessary procedure (like removing infected tissue) but really will perform a cosmetic procedure for you. Stay away from these doctors!! If caught, not only will the doctor be charged for fraud- but you will too!! If you think plastic surgery is expensive, wait until you have to hire a lawyer to keep you out of jail!
Good luck

No, they're too cheap for that. Plus, plastic surgery usually isn't covered by insurance unless it's medically necessary.

If you just got insurance, and you had no insurance for the last 63 days before you got insurance, then there is a waiting period for everything that you already needed when you got insurance, and for all medical conditions that you already had when you got insurance. The waiting period is usually 6-13 months. If you previously had other insurance for at least 18 months, and the last day that you had it was less than 63 days before you got your new insurance, then there is no waiting period.

No, they only cover medically necessary procedures. Call them up to get a benefits booklet. Or go to their website:

HELLO SAL,
THE BEST THING TO DO IS TO CALL YOUR INSURANCE AND ASK AS TO WHAT TYPE OF COSMETIC SURGERY IS COVERED.
