I got a tattoo on my shoulder blade about a year ago. I though of every possible place on my body to get the tattoo, and the shoulder seemed the best aside from the lower belly. I decided against the lower belly area because I didn't want it to stretch when I have children. Last October my fiance proposed to me. As I was looking for wedding dresses I realized that I neglected to think of my tattoo showing on my wedding day.
I plan to wear my hair down and have a veil, but I fee like that may not cover it well enough. Though it is a nice, pretty tattoo that represents my number one priority, "Family" I don't really want that to be what people are talking about while I'm saying, "I do."
Any ideas? Is there any heavy-duty make-up out there?

Dermablend works - it's used as stage makeup to specifically cover tattoos, scars, etc.
Sold at Macy's - $26

Dermablend works well. Me and 2 other bridemaids all had tattoos on our shoulder blades. We had to wear a stapless coral dress. We all used Dermablend to cover it up. You can still see an imprint when you look close up. But from a few steps away you won't be abled to see anything.Get it at Macy's and test it out. Have them show you how to cover up your tattoo.Wear a shirt that will make it easy for them to see your tattoo. It will also be messy, so don't wear white.Hope this helps and I wish you luck.

You could cover it with makeup concealer and foundation, although I think it may still show a little. Could you design a a shawl with a little lace or satin or velvet to drape beautifully over your shoulders while saying I do, or I suggest you just not worry about it, it is you now and atleast it represents family, you will be beautiful as you and no one will be looking at your tattoo. Be proud and happy and have a wonderful day.

Umm go to doctor tatooff something like that. Get a wedding dress that covers the shoulders, let your hair cover it, or if its on your left make sure your shoulder is facing the right away from audience when u say i do so switch places with the husband.

derma blend. Its the same stuff burn patients use to cover up scaring. It can be purchased at most department stores, macys etc..its about 30 bucks and comes in tons of shades to match most skin colors, or can be blended. The make up chicks can help you out. They also sell a powder to go on top that almost eliminates the sheen from the makeup giving a very natural look to it,

Order Sheer Cover...its super... I use it and I think it will cover it....or get a gown that wraps over one shoulder and leaves the other bare. Perhaps its not too late to have one made even? Look in the thrift stores for patterns of shirts/dresses that you think you would like made into your dress. Good luck :)

I think probably any medium foundation and powder would cover it up. I was amazed at how well Bare Naturale by L'Oreal managed to cover up a birthmark on my arm and a scar on my leg though. It's powder, but works as a foundation. You might want to give it a try.

Ok, first of all people, if the girl wants to cover her tat for her big day, why not whatever makes her happy. Secondly, I agree with the Dermablend, it works very well for covering tats. Congrats on your wedding and good luck to you both!!

Find some liquid foundation that is your skin color. A friend of mine decided to get this ugly tattoo on his neck and he would use that to cover it up on job interviews and it worked really well I forgot he had it. Good luck and congrats!!!
