Anyone have any advice? I unfortunatley don't have enough money to take it in to have it looked at and need to drive a long distance this weekend.
We just bought the car a week ago, it is running in perfect order for the most part...
Sometimes it seems to choke for a second or more before starting after the cars been sitting off for a little while.
If I was to turn the ignition off, and then re-start it right away it has no problem....
grrrrrrrrrrrr! What could it be?

There is a fuel pump check valve in the fuelpump sending unit that is allowing fuel pressure to drop while sitting overnight or after a couple hours. This will not cause you to postpone your trip just take it back to a Nissan dealer when you can . The service bulliten is titled Long Crank Time Before Engine Starts # NTB05-052a I'm not sure if it will be under warranty you did not include how many miles are on your car.

It could be anything....is there any lights that are on,on the dash,a picture of an engine or check engine light? If so it could be a number of things...Without hearing or seeing no one would be able to tell.If it is the pump like the other bloke thinks try turn the key 3 times to see if it makes a difference, reason being it will prime the system 3 times pushing more than enough fuel up...If it dont fix the prob then as i sed,it could be numerous things.Sorry

could be the fuel pump doesn't pump enough fuel in for initial ignition and then when you restart the system you get more fuel. More or less an educated guess without hearing it but as long as its starting, i wouldn't worry too much about it
