The citric acid in undiluted lemon juice will harm the skin. Don't rub lemon straight on your face! It will burn it - and sting like a....
The best thing to do is dilute some lemon juice and use it as an occasional wash for the face. It have brightening and antiseptic properties so can work quite well for acne, but don't just rely on it. Best off using a product for clearing acne, but a little lemon juice won't hurt if you make it up properly!

lemon juice helps discoloration of the skin and fades marks, like if you have an uneven skin tone or marks left from breakouts. It doesn't do anything to acne itself though and will probably irritate it. If you want to get rid of acne try using honey, just put a little on the acne (not all over your face) before you go to bed then wash it off in the morning. After a couple days of doing this it should clear up.

It's not a myth, but it is a dumb idea. Putting citric acid directly on inflamed acne will burn like crazy and cause irritation. Now, if you want to squeeze some fresh lemon juice into a cream cleanser like cetaphil, that will help. The citric acid helps to kill bacteria and lighten skin, it can fade scars after a few thousand applications, so don't expect them to be gone next week. Just don't rub a whole lemon on your face. Mix it with something firsts, like cleanser or a moisturizer. DO NOT mix it with anything that contains salicylic, glycol or lactic acid. Or benzoyl peroxide, that can cause a bad reaction on your skin.

Well, the lemon juice will help dry out oil, but if you rub it all over your face you will probably end up with reallllly dry skin.
I've dipped a q-tip in lemon juice before and then just dabbed that on pimples, and it worked a little bit. the pimple didn't disappear, but it went away much faster than if i had left it alone.
oh and don't pop it! that spreads the oils around and makes it last a lottt longer than it would normally.

Lemon WILL draw out the oils but Yarrow (Achillea millefolium) also known as Milfoil, works better, just make a strong tea (2 Tbsp in a cup of boiling water). Let cool and use twice a day on the affected areas. The tea is an excellent Hair conditioner also.

if anything lemon will irritate your skin. It is highly acidic and is probably not the most sensitive choice for your situation. I have had encounters with friends that have used lemon for various facial purposes and gotten dark spot on their face. It took months for them to go away. I would not suggest using lemon at all. I hope this helps!

hell no! lemon is very acidic. it will only dry up your skin but it may help get rid of the bacteria on the surface but not underneath so its kinda useless. try mashing ripe mango and put it on your face and wait for it to dry... mango contains AHA that can get rid of dead skin cells and it WILL make your skin smoother... and don't touch your face. you will transport bacteria from where ever to your face
