No one really wins, because for the most part no one changes their mind about anything, so...

I'm not trying to be rude, and maybe I'm reading too much into the semantics here but, it seems like a paradox to me. How can you have a religious debate between a christian and atheist and have a winner? That's like two people debating over whether Miller Lite actually tastes great or is less filling and having a clear winner. I guess it depends on what you mean by "won"

"True" Christians don't sit around the for the chance to debate with non-believers.

They need to keep going door to door to find those chosen ones written in Jehovah's book already...those ones with the meek and teachable hearts who are intelligent and need to hear the good news.

False Christians sit around and debate with the non-believers and basically this makes them on the same boat as the atheists. Intelligent people realize that only about 10% of the earth's population will "make it" after Armageddon has completed--- make it into the new system.

I tell ya, by the way things look thus far, that day isn't far off, but not only Christians, but everyone needs to keep in mind "2 Peter 3: 8---..."one day is a thousand years to Jehovah God, and a thousand years is but one day". Our timing is not his, but those who truly love him endure and they suffer a bit. This sick world is not a good place; it's worse than ever.

I will call the discussions of that type contending for the faith, rather than debating. I usually make mention of my faith soon after meeting someone. At the first opportunity, I will do something for them that is above what they would expect from a new acquaintance. When they thank me, I let them know that before I was a Christian, it was hard to put myself out for anyone I did not love, and the the bible says that even the infidels take care of their own. I will tell them I am praying for them, and laugh and say"I know you don't believe in God, but He you can't stop Him from believing in you." A true debate is generally fruitless, better a good example, followed by a good deed.

Surprisingly, most atheists wont debate me once they find out I'm Christian. I don't get it, can't two people have a civil debate with opposing view points? So much more interesting than two with the same views ... that gets boring. My boyfriend on the other hand, he is agnostic and we have mini debates all the time. I usually win when he gives up on trying to outsmart me in a debate. It isn't his best area. I like winning those.

It really is never a loss to have a debate about Christianity. There is only one truth and if we are doing our job by spreading the news, we win. If a person chooses not to hear it, the Bible says to shake the dust off our feet and move on. It is not a loss to be doing God's work even if the listener doesn't hear.

I kind of have. But I wouldn't necessarily say that their can be a winner. My definition of a winner in this situation I would say when the atheist acknowledges that God exist and he is real the the atheist ask Jesus to become their lord and Savior

it was so frustrating and stressful because i had to fight with a friend. We fought so much about it that i think i cried a couple times. At the end, we were still friends, when we chose to leave the part of our lives away to maintain our friendship. i didn't win but i didn't lose either.

I don't really think in those terms, but I'd debate Richard Dawkins any day. I am reviewing him on my 360 blog if interested.

They can never win. In the end, all you have to do is say, "okay, manifest your god and I'll believe in it."

End of debate.
