It says that HE determined never again to destroy the earth with a flood. Or does this not apply?

Why would I care about what some guy wrote in a book 2000 years ago, and why would it make me feel any better about today's reality? I don't believe in astrology or voodoo or anyone who claims to be able to predict the future based on anything other than scientific evidence.

Maybe this would assuage the fears of a Christian fundamentalist, but how many of them even acknowledge the reality of global warming? Not many.

I believe you may have a point but He is showing us that man can not rule independently from Him.
Since the perfect man decided to follow Satan instead of The Creator Jah said Ok.You're on your own.
It's like when you tell a child not to put thier hand on the hot stove but they insist on going over and touching it to see what happens.
It's going to take divine intervention to save this world from the destruction we ourselves have caused.
But that doesn't take us off the hook.
I feel we still have a responsibility to do what we can to slow down the prosses.
Some people think the world will be distroyed and everyone will go to heaven. Not true.
When you read the Bible it mentions a paradise earth(Rev.21:1-5 remember the word 'Heaven is used in the Bible at times to describe the ruling class.)
(Gen1:28-30; 2:8-15 tells us why the earth was created and Isaiah 45:18;55:10,11 reminds us that Gods words will have certain sucess. So this world is not going to be distroyed because this world has done nothing wrong for which to be distroyed.)
(We also find reference to a paradise earth in Matt.5:5,6:9,10,Ephesians1;9-11)
So although God will intervene,we are still responsible for our part. Will we be part of the problem or part of the solution.
As bed as things get is as bad as we are going to have to clean up.
And we all will be part of the solution one day(Jer.25:33)It's just a matter of if you're going to be handling a shovel or just "laying around.".
May Jah bless you with insight and wisdom.

Well, the book of Joel says we are due for a butt kicking from God, but Corinthians 15:17 says without a "risen Jesus" there is no Christian faith ... and they found the tomb of Christ in 2005 ... so do you really think quoting passages from a story book is going to have any effect on Global Warming????

Wishful thinking = prayer. I hope for the best and prepare for the worst. I don't depend on God to do it for me!

Well, whether it applies or not is irrelevant to me since I dont believe in the christian bible and also because Im a practising witch. In any case, observing human's penchant for destroying mother earth in the name of profit does far more to make me uncomfortable about both our future and the future of mother earth than any book could relieve.

Global warming is a scam. Temperatures have been changing around the world forever.
People on earth, if all gathered in one spot would be a dot on the earth not to mention the entire world and atmosphere. How much permanent damage or change can we possibly make.
But there is an up side. I am all for clean water and such, so maybe we will do something about all the garbage - chemicals - in landfills.

Genesis story is not a commentory of an eyewitness.
there was no human being to witness the creation event.
So, don't depend so much on the creation stories to find answers for environmental problems.
avoid greed.
protect the planet.
Reading genesis alone is of no use.

oh, wait, i read an afraican native tribe's bible, their bible said that god will destory the earth with a fire, then we will all go to heaven

then i read a chinese native god's bible like book, their chinese god will send us a boat and save us from the flood, so we have nothing to worry about

so there are so many gods around the world, which god should we believe in? how can you be sure that your god is better than my god?

so in conclusion, there is no god, only men created god to fool other people

No. Because it doesn't say anything about OUR doing it- to Ourselves. If we are "determined" to ignore the consequences of global Warming- it won't be God who's to blame for the floods, famines, & catastrophies that will befall us. It will be US- who destroyed what HE provided.

No.

It won't be a giant flood, although there will be some flooding. Drought will be at least as big a problem.
