Are you're saying that no one got into heaven before Jesus came, so the old testament is flawed?

By Old Testament law, only Jews could make it to Heaven. So, for everyone, it is definitely easier.

Easier.
In the Old Testament God required animal sacrifices so that mankind could receive forgiveness for their sins (Leviticus 4:35; 5:10).
In summation, the animal sacrifices were commanded by God so that the individual could experience forgiveness of his sins. The animal served as a substitute--that is, the animal died in place of the sinner. Animal sacrifices have stopped with Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ was the ultimate sacrificial substitute and is now the only mediator between God and mankind (1 Timothy 2:5).

Heaven was not available to anyone until Christ ascended. People were in Paradise (which is purgatory).

People prior to the birth of Christ were saved through Him by His wisdom. They were not saved in the sense of being born again and filled with the Spirit, but they were saved with the meaning of being forgiven by God. They did not enter heaven upon their death, because the way for heaven was not made available until Christ ascension, however they were in paradise (see Luke 16:19-31). During Christ ascension they were then carried into heaven with Him. That is where they are today—in heaven with Christ.

Easier - we are now forgiven through Him. No one can earn Heaven on his or her own.
