Well he is ******* God, dear. Let's leave it at that. Clearly the message is clouded. Just like everything else on this stupid Internet of ours. Do not take a 5 thousand year old book literally. You are not our president. You won't get away with it.

God cannot be held up to morality as morality is a man made concept. God gave us the mind to differenciate between right and wrong. He also gave us free will. But I nor anyone else is in any position to determine if God was under moral standing in the Job story or for that matter, if it was anything more than a story to illustrate a set of morales.

Being unable to sin, God cannot be held to any standard, he is above any standard.
Again, it wasn't about what God wanted or didn't want, it was about whether or not a human being COULD remain steadfast to God, and Job did! The fact that God allowed Satan to do ANYTHING but KILL Job is not beside's the fact, IT IS THE FACT! In other words, Satan took Job to the BRINK of Death and still Job remain loyal! Think about how PO'D YOU are about these Kids dying and now think about how Job MUST HAVE FELT, but HE KNEW God has his reason.
Satan was challenging God's right to rule, not whether God was bigger or stronger than Satan, but WHO had the RIGHT and best-interest for the creation, Jehovah or Satan?

Equating "God" with one line of religious thought is a limiting.
Humans make choices. God gives humans two things, free will and the power to choose.
I don't think "Satan" has anything to do with it. Morality is a value judgement of what is "good" and what is "evil" not a person or entity.
Either you choose to do good, or you choose not too.
If you buy the biblical line that is a pretty slim view of life and of God. In my view God is much bigger then anyone book can describe.

God is The Moral Standard. We just do not understand His ways. He knew where his children would end up and He wanted Job's faith to stand out to us that no matter what, nothing and I mean nothing comes between us and our faith. People wonder why Christians are so adamant about our beliefs, this is it. God first no matter what else.

Why did God curse Judas and even his mother before he was ever born, to be the one to betray Jesus?
Why does give to people who don't deserve to have certain things and then turn around take from those those who seem like they would deserve to have.
Why would God allow Jews to be persecuted in the Spanish acquisition and Jews to be widely murdered in the Holocaust?
The answer is tha our understanding is not of God's understanding. His thoughs are not ours. He is a mysterious God. Who knows? but I don't need to question him because I know he gots this.

God works in mysterious ways, that's a part of what faith is. You have to trust in God. I know it may sound horrible to say, but maybe God is saying it's those children's time. Or, like God does SO MANY TIMES, maybe he's testing us and seeing what human beings are capable of doing.

An excellent question. I will give you the same answer here that I did over there.
Death is not the worst thing in God's economy.
Is God held to a different standard? Of course. He *is* the standard. God is perfect. That means He can hate PERFECTLY, He can judge PERFECTLY. We can't.

Don't forget - According to most Christians, it was also Jesus who allowed Satan to kill those kids.
I also find it ironic that one of the Church of Satan law/commandment thingys is "Do not harm little children".

God is all efficient and powerful. "Who dares question the want of God?" (Quote from Charleston Heston as Moses in the action picture) guy, be careful and pay attention for that bolt of lightening or some truly undesirable _hit coming your way.
