like when its hot can they be cooled or when its cold can they be heated

Yes, they have pressurization, heating and air conditioning. They can be hot as Hades when the sun is blazing down through the atmosphere but they can also be very very cold on a night at high altitude. Fighter cockpit air conditioning has to be much better than commercial aircraft because the aircraft must be able to fly anywhere from humid jungles at tree top hight to six miles above Everest on the coldest day of the century.

Much of military aircraft electronics is cooled by unconditioned or minimally conditioned air. The electronics use cold wall technology so that air containing moisture and even salt spray doesn't get onto the less hardy electrical components of the box. Or at least that's the spirit of the specifications for many of the parts I worked on for military aircraft.

Yes, they have to be.... at altitude, the temperature outside is -65 degrees F!

I'm not sure but i think they have to be it gets alot colder as you get higher in the atmosphere. They oxygen also gets alot thinner. So th answer is yes.

They have to be, not only for the pilot but for all that high tech electronic gear!!
