What's the stereotype about how they behave in relationships? Why do western men mail-order them? I even saw this e-book online about strategies to find a Russian girl.

Stereotype (facts in parentheses, I live in NYC and met many Russians):
1 -traditional minded (false, can be assertive & independant as any American woman)
2- model-like beauty (I've met hot girls, I've met really ugly ones, no different than any other place)
3- have a certain "mysterious" quality (they're human)
4-not quite European, not quite Asian (most of them are indistinguishable from any European, many can pass for white Americans)

Fact: I've never been there, but Russia is a hard place to live in. It has a "GDP per capita" similar to many South American countries, PLUS long, brutal winters. Wouldn't you want to leave if you were living in a place like Russia? It's no secret the country also has a population decline and high suicide rate. Russians also need visas to enter US/Europe/Canada/Australia. So......this is how the mail order bride business forms, out of those concepts I just wrote about.
Also, Russian women are less traditional than Westerners think. It has to be understood that Russians still have strong leftist values, and leftist ideologies tend to reject tradition and encourage gender equality.
It amazes me how people cannot see that.
Mail order brides from Latin America are similar. Yes, Latinas ARE more traditional than westerners, but they're also escaping their bad living conditions. Some people who have their visa applications rejected try to sneak the border. If they're female and smart, they enroll in a mail order bride agency.

The stereotype is that hot women in Russia are so desperate to get out of Russia that they will marry an ugly, dorky American loser who has enough money to buy her a plane ticket.

---edit--

The e-book is probably a fake book written by people who run the Russian women dating agencies in order to create the perception that there is a demand (to drum up more business). Russian women write me all of the time on Internet dating sites, so there is no "strategy" needed to meet them.

The stereotype is that they really want to get out of Russia and will marry any American man. A not so attractive older, or awkward American guy can find himself a young Mail Order bride, who wants to be at home and please him (keep house, etc), rather than what usually happens - the young guys are the ones younger women in the states want to go out with and marry.

Also, there won't be a long complicated courtship.

It's no longer handiest english guys,it is all western individuals almost always. Also I spotted that western ladies do not like slavic ladies for the identical factors. The stereotype is headquartered on cast grounds considering so much of you're employed as prostitutes and take a look at desperatelly to marry any one simply to receive the citizenship.

i live in the USa from california. What i have picked up is that russian women have a hot accent, are deadly in a secret agent kind of way (like a sexy KGB agent, from the cold war days), and the ideal sexy russian is blonde, white, tall like anna kournikova.

i love their russian names. Their english accent is very sexy indeed.
