I just went through this recently losing my father to cancer. I found no comfort in a mute God. I wished that I could have God telling me that everything would be alright, that everything happens for a reason. I didn't. Am I to still believe that God loves me?

Depends on the person..if I get what you are saying, you mean that if something bad happens, people loose interest in God.

You can look at 9/11 for example and see that everyone flocked to a higher power for comfort. Other blamed God. It just depends on the person.

Actually, I run to God. He is the one I trust. He is the one that always stays close to me. He is the one that comforts me when I'm hurt. He is the one that councils me. Our God is an Awesome God, He Reigns from Heaven above, with Wisdom, Power and Love, Our God is an Awesome GOD.

God Bless You

Yup, devastating events really test our faith. If our theology is built upon sand, then the house comes tumbling down. Wasn't there a parable about that?
