I like MK Restaurant. They are located almost any big shopping centers in Bangkok. You can easily find their web site on search Yahoo. They provide Thai-Suki, it's a sort of Japanese shabu-shabu Thai version. Dip fish, beef, pork, chicken, veg, needles etc in boiling broth and eat with chili source. Yummy! Price will roughly be THB 100 to 200 per person without drinks. Roasted duck is also recommended.

Enjoy!

Vietnamese food offers subtle flavours and a slightly less fiery approach compared with Thai cuisine. Vietnamese Spring Rolls, which have morsels of minced pork, shallots, beansprouts and coriander eaten with a dipping sauce, make a yummy appetizer or snack.

Indian
Follow your nose around the Paruhat Textile Market area where you'll find some great local Indian food. Curries, Thalis, breads accompanied by lassi and poppadams, a complete contrast to traditional Thai food. Unlike Chinese cuisine which has melded in some Thai dishes, Indian food remains distinctly apart . Wander around this area known as 'Little India' and eat with the locals.

That would be "Cabbages & Condoms" restaurant off Sukhumvit Soi 12. They have the best authentic Thai foods. Cozy and unique restaurant with condoms as the main subject for the designs (to support HIV-AIDS programs). The visitors are mostly tourists. Rates are reasonable, not too expensive. Favorites foods, you can see the Star beside each favorite item in the menu. But I'd recommend: chicken wrapped in leaf, tom yum goong, honey roasted chicken. Take some free condoms when leaving instead of peppermint ;)

Great Question - I think one of my favorites is an Italian Restaurant called Govinda - it is on Soi 22, just off Sukhumvit road - it is in a little plaza on your right maybe 40 meters off the corner.. opens 6 in the eve.. and I have not had a bad meal there... and have brought many friends, many times - nice sauces, and after going there for a couple of yrs, I realized finally that it was vegetarian - - no, I am not..

I also really like the Landmark lunch buffett - Landmark Hotel, soi 6 Sukh. - more good things than you can sample, Thai and Western.. and yummy desserts..

The best restaurant in Bangkok for real Thai food is Harmonique. It is owned and operated by two women and one man all in their 70s. Service is weak...the setting is in a garden and fun....the food is fabulous. It is on Old Road and Soi 34 I believe. They have a telephone and anyone in your hotel can help you locate....well worth the work.

For me, the more ‘authentic’ tastes are mostly found on the streets. Here are my favorites:
Iconic pad thai is slung until the wee hours at Thip Samai (313 Thanon Mahachai, +662221680); daytime fave khanom jeen (Southern-style curries with rice noodles, herbs and vegetables) at Khrua Aroi Aroi (Thanon Pan, +6626352365) with views of a colorful Hindi temple; and duck noodles at Pet Tun Jao Tha (945 Charoenkrung Soi 22, +6622332541).

Ruen Petch a hot pot or Suki restuarant on Petchaburi road. It's semi cheap and very good. One person can spend about 200-300 baht and have a full dinner.
